The big question mark for me still sits around R. Warnock. Love him as a player, but given Mick has never been one to adore ruckman in the past, I still think something could be going on. The fact is Kreuzer, Hampson, Casboult and Warnock are probably going to be competing for 2 spots. In the past Mick has gone for the 1 genuine ruckman, which we can assume will be Kreuzer, and the KF/2nd Ruckman. Leaves Robbie as the odd man out, even though he is a superior tap ruckman to MK.

Robbie has the potential to be an a-grade tap ruckman, but it's very hard to see him playing lots of game next year, unless MK goes down. Amazing depth to have for us, but the question for Mick, is would he rather have a good ruckman waiting for a chance in the 2's, or trade in another first round pick or player.

The other option, which is seemingly less preferable, is if MM see's Kreuzer spening more time forward, with Robbie as the #1 ruckman, in which case Hampson is likely to be waddling around in the 2's.
Agree, one of Hampson or Warnock is our real bargaining chip. Would rather trade one for something of value that we can use than have 1 or even both of them in the twos.

IMO we should be doing everything we can to send Warnock to GWS in exchange for one of their 1st round picks. If Giles goes, surely they'll need a mature ruck.
Yep, or at least that's the way I see it.

If we could get something like Warnock and Ellard over the line for a pick in the top 20, it may just meet all criteria.
Can't help thinking that we're holding off Curnow's promotion just in case we can sneak in another pick.

I certainly wouldn't be crushed if 206 was traded away for something of need. Believe he is somewhat one dimensional as a player and with capable rucking options in Hampson and Kruezer and backup in Casboult and perhaps even Hendo I could see us taking the opportunity to move him on.

A first round pick for either Hammer or Warnock would be a fair result, I think. After all its what they cost us and the service they have given is in direct proportion to the time spent developing them. Not suggesting either should or would go, but if that happened I think it would be a fair outcome if we got a first rounder or very early second. Any trade that took place could only do so with their imprimatur so all would be good. There was never any suggestion that either was either being courted by other clubs or looking outside of our club, so I doubt either would happily leave unless the deal they are offered by another club was attractive.

And I believe Mitchell may also have done some ruck work at the Nth Blues so we do have options.

Football is a business full of both reward and criticism, if they don't like it, then they shouldn't be in it.
Like I have said to others, lets see your credentials first. And like the others, we will find you to be nothing more that a blowhard that likes to pretend. A lot.

As did Rowe, although there are conflicting reports about his performance in this area.
Lets face it, if we are getting down to Mitchell and Rowe to relief ruck for more than the game they are currently in because the main and part time rucks both go down with injury (and I mean no disrespect to them at all but its not the role they were recruited and trained for) then we are probably in a power of trouble that game, and if we need to select them the next week to fill the role we arent fairing much better.

The sky didnt fall in (with regard to our ruck options) when Sauce left, and we didnt have Caz, Rowe or Mitchell then (we did have big Irish though) so I think we could afford to lose another ruck to a trade if we could get a first rounder. That said, we probably also need to rookie another prospect for the next generation this year or next.

At least I am going to buy a membership in 2013
I am still leaning to not but I have wavered a few times now. 41 years is hard to break. My wife will still be buying hers and keeps at me to change my mind. So far I have not. I am pretty determined but am of weak flesh! We will see.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't mind the club exploring this avenue of thought, that's probably the way to go.

There might be the slightest chance that we get a reasonable offer for Ellard, but I'd suggest that we'd need a bloody good offer to ship anyone else (except for players like Davies, Joseph, Curnow who we will not get any offer for).
I think Ed is arguably more of a chance to be traded than Ellard. Curnow kept Ellard out of the side late in the year and coming off the rookie list might be an enticement...

Pick upgrade at best.

Joshua toys with future
"I haven't really got any indication, at this stage, when he'll actually make his final decision," Pitcher said.

"But I've left the ball in his court and I'm waiting for him to get back to me."

Pitcher confirmed the Suns were pretty keen on retaining Toy, with Essendon and Hawthorn two of the clubs who had shown some interest in the talented youngster.

If Toy does leave the club, the Suns are likely to demand a first-round draft pick.

"Every club is touching base to see where he's at, but we haven't been able to get any firm indication as yet," Pitcher said.

"There hasn't been any club that's gone hard at him to try to get him, so far."

Having said that, some clubs might look at Joseph on past performance. Again, doubt it though.
