We have a poster here who knows what's going on with Bell.

I think he repeated his post yesterday suggesting that we're no further down the track promoting Bell than we were a couple of weeks back.

In his words: "Not looking good"

Yet in the HUN this morning it was mentioned that Bell was promoted from the rookie list. (Sam Edmund)

I was at the B&F last night and there was no mention of a promotion for Bell.

Re. Caddy:

At this stage he is definitely going to Geelong, St.Kilda and North and apparently they're all going to get him as he has nominated each club.

How many days of this left? :(
Those guys on a footy forum who said Caddy wanted Carlton couldn't possibly be wrong. :( :D

Not a crack at anyone, but I just find it hard to believe that so many people have sources and connections to clubs. o_O

It would want to be some sort of trade to see Bell leave the club.
I don't disagree. Nevertheless, if we haven't yet offered him a primary list spot he has the option of the PSD and ending up with Sheeds or back in QLD with Bluey.

That's business, I'm afraid.

EDIT:
Re. Geelong's compensation pick. What should that realistically be valued at? #12-#15?
Wouldn't GC be better off getting the pick for this year anyway in consideration of where their list is at?
Because they need to reduce their list this year, having the pick to be used in the next couple of years might be more valuable.

Didn't hear it myself and this was taken from the main board thread:

Damian Barrett just said WB have offered Tom Bell a 3 year deal on their main list. Not sure the particulars of the proposed trade.
He would be in their best 22. Would be worth something.

I think we really need to keep Bell. I know there are some with knocks on him, but he is a key clearance player, and I would think he would continue to be one. His current play reminds me a little of a very young Jobe Watson, who was touted as a decent clearance specialist, but with sloppy disposal and decision making.

He has shown he can be very strong in the clearances at AFL level, more effective even than the likes of McLean, who was very very good. I think perhaps Carrazzo and Judd are the only two who are obviously better in this area than him.

If Bell was promoted you would think we'd know by now.

None us us want to see Bell go but.............
If someone was keen enough to get him and offer us a pick in the 20s, what should we do?

Which number would have us saying, "Yeah, let's go for it"?
You would have thought so Harks.

If anything you would think that it would have been mentioned at the B&F last night when Tom went up on stage to collect his Best 1st Year Player Award.
Funnily enough he hesitated when he was about to walk off stage and I thought for a second that there may have been an announcement.

Can't believe we aren't being mentioned in trading for Chris Dawes.

Get him to Carlton and give him the nickname of 'Early' - seems such as natural fit !
Is Dawes that good?

His game against Watson would suggest otherwise.

The Pies would want a first round pick or a pick upgrade.

Pass.

Yet it isn't as bad as the rumour that Jesse White is headed to Carlton.

And we should trade a third round pick for Jesse White. :D

Pass again.

Rather we draft the next White who will only clog up our list.

Please let that one come to fruition Aph
If I could wave my magic wand and make it happen I would !!!

Carlton board's own 'little paper' spy? :p Thanks, but I'll wait until it's official.
Only posting what I read in the HUN this morning Azul ;)

FWIW I don't read into anything as being "fact" unless it's official.

They meant he was promoted during the 2012 season to play games, not for 2013. It's worded a little weird.

Just read it again.

Yes you are right.

Lack of sleep on my part from a late night. ;)

In other awards, promising youngster Tom Bell, who was promoted from the rookie list, was judged best first-year player.
