For depth maybe if we were looking at him as a HBF or HFF, he wouldn't get a game in our 22 so not sure why we would be chasing him.

Davis is interesting.

Would only be for a year and would bump a very good yet developing player in Smith, or a senior player like Selwood.

Neither of the player trade scenarios are really equitable but I reckon this is reasonable.

No.

All three are reasonable players but we need star quality mids. Gaff looks like he could end up just that.

In this case for WC quality and needs would trump quantity I imagine, plus we would never be able to create enough list space for these players plus our picks in the draft.

He is 26, and would only be on equal or less than Callan Ward, so you would get less than tier 2. Most likely 3 or 4, due to his age.

But as you said, it would most likely be for a mini draft pick anyway.

Lol tier 4 isn't that what Krakour/Fraser were for GC.

I am pretty sure Foley is slightly better.

Personally I never saw the hype in Ward. Not a bad young player but hardly a superstar....reckon GWS may be splashing there cash in the wrong places.

Get real.

Ward was hard as nails and his skills were very good.

You obviously didn't watch him in last year's PF v St Kilda.

Foley is not even in the same postcode as Ward.

Cal is definitely not worth the money he is on, but he is a very good player. Im confident he will be good for them, unfortunately. Gets talked about mainly for his crash and bash style, but he actually has very good skills.

Tier 4 is probably going too far, but Palmer got tier 3, and he is still young. Foley would be worth more, but by the AFL's rules, might not get it. Still, probably wont matter anyway.

Certainly won't matter seems he's contracted. We won't get a compo pick for a contracted player. But id imagine its for a mini-draft pick.

Foley has made the AA squad and was on track to win a B&F if it wasn't for injury.

He may not be a former high draft pick but his output easily matches and is ahead of Scully, Ward, Davis etc...

Axel's highlight package >>> Wards so STFU! You want to talk about 1 game, well Axel was pretty much BOG in the one of SoO game. He also ripped up teams in 2008 week in week out with pace.

Nathan Foley is definitely one tough hombre. Is quite nimble and injuries aside, a very good in and under midfielder. He also has a fair bit of experience and a mature body. Not sure if the Dees would have any chance on gaining his services, but if we did, he could very well be the tough experienced mid with pace that we are crying out for.

What might Tigers' fans want for him from the Dees department? Maybe our 2nd round pick plus something more (Maric maybe?). I'd entertain that, for sure.

No offence Tommy D but that offer is pretty insulting.

Foley is loved at the club and I doubt he will be going anywhere. Only instance I can see him going is if the club somehow net a deal for one of the top mini draft picks, he's happy to go and in the process gets himself a big pay rise to finish off the latter stages of his career hence we both benefit. If not he stays and is an integral part of our midfield for the next 5 or 6 years.

With our lack of depth in that area you just don't go shipping off players like Foley unless you can get a really good deal that brings you out most likely ahead.

noooo chance. Surely u must be close to delisting Maric? The club loves Foley and Foley loves the club. The talk of an offer from GWS would have to be a very good one for us to entertain trading Nathan and also a good offer to him financially for him to consider leaving. Not sure if he will go anyway.

Not at all. Rick the Rock Eagle might have had some injury worries and played a lot of games in a wooden spoon side but he was rated very highly by Vossy when he saw him on the pack of his Hungry Jacks kids meal when he was at the airport on the way to watch the U18 Championships!

I retract my proposed trade and demand an early third round draft pick along with Heppel and a jar of his mother's famous marmalade.
