I think Richmond would only be playing a minor role in this; I can't imagine what they would want from these clubs in a realistic sense, apart from O'meara. I guess it is possible that Foley could be included for a pick upgrade, but that doesn't even scratch the surface of what would be required to play ball with those names. If any of the Tigers 'untouchables' were to be included in this, I'd imagine it would be Lids. Strongly doubt it though.
 
Can't really s.ay too much but it involves 3 Blues who havent signed yet and one that has a year left on his contract. The Tigers will be traded two of these players for draft pics which will be passed on to a certain club. Tigers will give up one of its current stars and a fringe player

I call bullshit - Carlton and Richmond have nothing of fair value that they'd be prepared to trade. If a 4-way between those clubs and those players eventuates I'll buy a Carlton membership in 2012.

All I can say is this has been worked out over 6 weeks and is a very complicated deal. Tigers will be very happy even though they are going to give up a young gun. Saints well have decided to start a rebuild and the Blues basically just need one piece of the puzzel to be a serious contender.

Agree, Pearce would be a gun in a top 4 side, but he does tend to be a downhill skiier and drop his head when it gets tough. I see him ahead of Ebert in pace and disposal by a mile. Not every player can be an inside mid, therefore you need players like Pearce to run, carry and deliver with precision. Pearce would be very good in this role for a Hawthorn, Geelong, WestCoast, Collingwood, Carlton or similar.
 
Geez you'd be pretty annoyed coming in as a new coach to St Kilda with both Goddard and Dal Santo traded out without your consent. If St Kilda did trade a big name it would only be one of them not both as I can't see them trading both and getting anywhere near equal return.

Richmond lose essentially nothing... And get Dal Santo?
I think they would run off laughing with that. They would have to give up their first pick in that instance for it to be almost fair, and then some.
Also, St. Kilda to lose Goddard and Dal Santo? I dont think so.

Just spent thirty minutes trying to figure that one out. Can't be true, just too many pieces. I had trouble fitting Waite into the puzzle in particular.

C'mon people, have a shot at this, it's a mind bender!

I could see Richmond and Lids parting ways if O'Meara was a serious chance, but even then it's too speculative for a club scared by past trades-gone-bad.
 
The thing here is that the Tiger fans are going to be over the moon, even though they are going to give up something this trade will push them into the top 8 next year. Unfortunately for the Blues they have to give up quite a lot and some Carlton fans are going to be upset, but when they look at the gains they will be very happy indeed.

Will not happen. The only reason you would ever trade these players is if they requested it. Considering they've all signed contracts recently ...
