Poles apart, McFlurry will never be AFL standard even though we've wasted 50 games on him, Bergman showing a lot of ability.

This shows a lack of understanding of what makes AFL standard, as McHenry is just about the definition of it. A solid, no frills role player.

The thing is, AFL standard players tend to not last long in the AFL, because they're always one trade/draft period away from being replaced.

I wonder if Freo saying no we aren't trading Lobb will give other club confidence to hold firm on their contracted players wanting out.

Reckon GWS might do the same with Hooper

Given GWS already have picks 3, 12, 19 21.. along with Pies future 2nd... & likely to get either pick 18 or Cats future 1st for Bruhn... imo, they would be best placed to hang on to Hopper given they no longer have a cap issue.

What is happening with Melbourne?

Richmond going back up again with Taranto and Hopper tho.
Haven't got Hopper yet... but agree Dees list is likely to look worse next year without Jackson, Hermes & Hunt... with Grundy the main in.

Harmes and Hunt are only just in the best 22 at the Dees.. fxxk all loss there..

Jackson will hurt tho.. he allows Gawn to have more freedom and flexibility.. Grundy would go a hell of a long way to replacing Jackson.. but only if Grundy can stay out of the medical room..

the dees have a defensive line based around may and lever with
Brayshaw and Salem running off HB

we all know about their midfield based around Oliver, Petracca with a couple of others Viney etc and the ruck in Gawn..

then they have Pickett, Frisch, Brown and Spargo to build their forward line around..

Langdon on the wing is pretty bloody handy too.

its easily one of the best spines in the AFL.

harmes and hunt mean nothing in amongst that list of names

I expect they’ll be up there and playing in another GF next year… going back to back is bloody hard.. so many teams have failed to do it, failing to even make the Gf the following year…
But then bounced back the year after..

they‘ll get some handy draft capital from the Jackson trade to help too..
