I did mention CJ though. He could turn into a good winger if actually given time to develop. I don't think Murphy has too much value, despite obvious potential, given that he's about the 5th ranked tall forward at Freo atm behind Pavlich, McPharlin, Tarrant and Browne.

I think you are mistaking Andrew Browne with Leigh Brown, who used to be on our list but is now at the roo's. Andrew Browne is a 178cm midfielder who will almost certainly be de-listed.

McPharlin is our first choice at CHB who gets thrown forward ocassionally. It's like saying the eagles don't need a tall forward because they already have Adam Hunter. Sure they are both handy forwards, but both spend little time in attack because they are required elsewhere.

Murphy is our 3rd best tall forward behind Pavlich and Tarrant which makes him tradeable because we also have young Marcus Drum who can play forward. The fact that Murphy is our third best tall forward doesn't mean that we'll give him away for next to nothing though. Taken at pick 12 in 2003 and has had some very good games at AFL level.

Jude Bolton is an interesting one. Can't say I wouldn't enjoy seeing him in red and blue, the only thing that'd worry me is the price. Sydney have said it'd take a fair trade to get him.
I'm wary of getting rid of Johnstone, I think we avoid giving him up as much as possible. Seeing as they have been looking at Miller, we should probably start there. If there are other swans fans reading, who would you be wanting in exchange for Bolton?

Are you joking? the last thing our midfield needs is another slow, ageing, in and under type. He doesn't have great skills either. Not interested in the slightest, even if we could get him cheap.

St Kilda's Pick 9

Sydney's Pick 11

Miller and Pick 53 for Pick 11 might work. Swans want Miller and having Swans already traded Pick 28, Pick 11 is not enough for Miller for their point of view and Pick 44 for Miller is not enough for the club's point of view. Thus, throw Miller and our 4th rounder (Pick 53) might help.

The TJ & Jamar for StKilda's Pick 9 is a possibility, but Sydney would be mad to trade Pick 11 for Miller and 53.

:D:D:D:D

And Meesen is only worth 37, but St Kilda will give up 9 for a 28 year old and a hack?

That makes no sense at all

If that trade went ahead you would win it by so far its not even funny

There have been a couple of good trades but most of them are looking biased towards us. I'd rather Buchanon than Bolton and I'm pretty sure Buchanon would be a Victorian boy. But really the o[nly reason we'd trade Trav is to get some picks or someone younger, not another mid thats similar age.

Buchanan is a colac boy, absolute gun.........his brother (liam) is a gun cricketer as well was on the busharangers squad two years ago and played a couple of one dayers for them..............IF I HERE SCOTT SIMPSON ONCE MORE ON HERE IM GOING TO SCREAM, SOUNDS LIKE WE SHOULD TAKE HIM WITH OUR 4TH PICK THE WAY UR ALL RAVING ABOUT HIM................jude bolton i agree with the poster who said he is slow and in and under type player........agree we have enough of those types in sylvia, jones, moloney, mcdonald and mclean......i rate bolton as a player but feel we have his area of expertise covered.

Do you have a template that you use for all of your posts? They're all exactly the same shape and format! If these were murders they'd obviously be the work of a serial killer! ;)

Trade week update
October 10, 2007

BRISBANE LIONS Believed to be interested in Melbourne's Travis Johnstone. A clutch of clubs want contracted young ruckman Cameron Wood. Collingwood, with pick 14, seeming well-placed for a trade as Richmond and St Kilda, with similar interest, have earlier first-round picks that might be too high a price to pay. Richard Hadley is being pursued by Carlton.

MELBOURNE Wants John Meesen from Adelaide. Offered Travis Johnstone around. Brad Miller being chased by Sydney but Melbourne says it wants to keep him.

SYDNEY Will get Martin Mattner from Adelaide and give up second-round draft pick. Some interest in Travis Johnstone from Melbourne and Sam Power from the Bulldogs. Has sought Brad Miller from Melbourne.

The next few days will be very interesting indeed.

I would also love a shot at Murphy and McKinley but we'll see what happens. The sooner the Judd deal goes through the better.

Otherwise its the same as every year!:p

Strong rumor that TJ is off to meet Matthews today! Apparently if all goes well TJ will be a lion.

On a side note: I love TJ my fav player, but he hasn't produced time to move on.... Will still follow him up in Bris if he does go and i am happy it could be a top team like Bris.

Bris have pick 11 (which = pick 12 overall), I would be happy with either 12 or Cam Wood and then trade Jamar or PJ.

White, with Meeson and Wood as young back ups and PJ/Jamar as a reserve. Sounds too good to be true.

Interesting times!!

It will all happen Friday.

Meesen will happen for a third rounder and TJ will end up at a new club. That's about as much as we will do IMO.

The rumours are Wood to Collingwood for pick 14.

Pick 14 on-traded to the Demons for Johnstone.

Would you be happy with that?
Stuff that.
Straight swap TJ for Wood.
Why involve the pies?
Then wed have 2 young promising rucks in Wood and Meeson, and a backup in PJ.
That would be awesome if we got both.
