I know its just a silly rumour but Ablett is gone, so how much more money would they have to free up?

1136: Martin Smith says: Geelong recruting manager Steve Wells says the Cats will probably be quiet this week unless 'something comes out of the blue'. He has confimed that both Djekkura and Gamble are open to be traded, while he says Mark Blake hasn't attracted any interest from other clubs. He expects most of Geelong's senior players to stay put.

PSD?

At the momment I am beginging to wonder if we are at the wrong stadium or something, or whether we even sent a team to trade week? Seems awfully quiet for a team who said they would be "active" and picks were on the table etc..

Hopefully we land a couple of decent players, missing out on a Krakeour is a bit crap, but I guess with his age doesnt really fit in to our plans. But if Worsfold trully believed we would be a shot at the flag in 1-2 years like he has harped on about... then we should of grabbed him.

We've got pick 4 which any other club would want, what else ???

No one, some one, every one which equals zero interest. Needs two to tango &/or trade.

Shannon Hurn is being asked about, no one else? problem in winning the woodene spoon is your players arent much chop.

Is anyone open to the idea of trading 26 and 28 for a pick in the high teens ? This is the official 1st round order of draft picks

2. Gold Coast
3. Gold Coast
4. West Coast Eagles
5. Gold Coast
6. Richmond
7. Gold Coast

9. Gold Coast
10. Brisbane Lions
11. Gold Coast
12. Melbourne
13. Gold Coast
14. Adelaide
15. Gold Coast
16. Port Adelaide
17. North Melbourne
18. Carlton
19. Hawthorn
20. Fremantle
21. Sydney
22. Western Bulldogs - Mitch Wallis
23. Geelong
24. St Kilda
25. Collingwood

Priority Pick
26. West Coast Eagles

Maybe Port or the Kangas might bite

people do realize that all these trade ideas are people just emailing them in. Was just on the hawks board, one of them posted the stokes and corey trade for pick 4 as a joke.

so everyone can relax about shuey, was probably just some essendon supporter suggesting that trade

Depends on if there are any legs in the rumour that we are looking at an upgrade of 17 -> 12 for part of the Hale trade from Melbourne.

If we get something else or we trade with Hawthorn who wont upgrade our first round pick then I would consider it, especially given we are apparently interesting in McKinley for a lower range pick, could package it up.

The question is though who would want to go play for Port? Ebert is the only one that comes to mind.

Surjan is 25 and was drafted at pick 10, and is Port's VC. He had knee surgery and missed the last half of the season.
Ebert is 20 and was drafted at pick 13.

We might have to throw in a mid-draft pick to make up for the difference in quality.

Surjan > WC
Ebert + Pick 45 > Port

WTF are you on about?????

Surjan was pick 10 in the PSD .....

From the top of what?

If a player like Grigg or Jacobs is available at pick 1 in the PDS we should grab them, even if they only agree to a 1 yr deal.

They would be worth decent trade currency next season and we could trade them to where they wanted to go if they didn't want to stay.

1341: BREAKING NEWS: Hawthorn's Chris Pelchen confirms the David Hale issue will be a fight between the Hawks and Melbourne. Hawks have spoken to Hale and North today. He also said that Josh Hill is committed to joining Hawthorn and the Hawks will now talk to Western Bulldogs in regards to getting a deal done. Pelchen has also dismissed talk that they will trade Rick Ladson or that they want to sign Will Thursfield from Richmond. Pelchen confirmed that the club is still interested in Chris Tarrant.

So Josh Hill to Hawthorn for 37
37 to West coast for Mckinley?
Mckinley to the bulldogs?

think thats sounds ok

I think the Bulldogs will use that pick to help snare the Shermanator.

Lot of rumours that a lot of players at Carlton are unhappy with their coach... Bloke (Vic journo) on 6PR a couple of days ago mentioned 10 senior players would move - huge! We know Jacobs, Grigg, Thornton are looking to go, wonder who the others are?

I love how all the people we were linked to pre-trade week such as Krakeour and Josh Hill, Daniel Wells (although he resigned) as it seems we must have barely spoken to these players, as by all reports we have been quiet as (unless its all hush hush..)?

Hill would offer that pacey half forward/forward pocket we require and allow us to stop trying to play Masten in that role and move him into the midfield where he belongs. But now he looks destined to Hawks, while Krakeour is already gone.

Griffen seems to be off to Freo though we would have barely any use for him.

Who is there left for the eagles to get? A few dud draft picks for Spangher and McKinley? Or some players outside other teams best 22?

We should be talking to blokes like Nathan Djerrkura, pacey outside players who are obviously quality but struggling in the best (well was the best) midfield in the league, while we have tons of inside midfielders, (Priddis, A Selwood, S Selwood, Ebert, Masten and Swift to an extent) we need more outside midfielders WITH FOOTSKILLS something our current crop of like Rosa, Dalziell, etc lack. Look at Embley and how important his role was in the 06 grand final when he used to hit targets more.

But alas we seem destined to just sit back, get a couple of dud draft picks for trades and continue to bank on our "youngsters" coming on... then after 3 poor years just say they havent developed like we hope but continue to back them...

At the end of 09 we seemed to have turned a corner and that WOULD of been a good time to trade in some decent quality mature players to compliment our youngsters (and apparently we did try for Stokes and a few others) but we ended up with Dalziell and pick 22 (Gerrick Weedon).

Not looking good for 2011, but hopefully the youngsters can develop a LOT more...
