You think what the club is doing is brilliant. What a surprise.

If we do no trades then your on here saying that that is the best and only thing to do and this is a "bad year for trading" (without any explanation as to why it's any different to any other year) and we are better off not getting involved and bagging and arguing with posters who say we should be more involved.

If we traded 10 players out you would be on here saying that that is an act of genius and it's the best year ever for trading and that it was the best outcome ever and calling anybody who has doubts about it a traitor.

Whatever the club does you would be on here saying how brilliant it is. There is no independent thought or intelligence behind any of your opinions. Just a desperation to see everything that happens as the bestest thing ever.

How many clubs have been burnt through trading? Too many to count. Sydney is the only club who have excelled but like Roos pointed out, they are forced to trade due to lack of supporters in Sydney. Sydney will never build a dominant team like Geelong because of this.

Do you really think this is a good year for trading? The talent looking for a new home is woeful. Krak - a 28yo ex-convict, Hill - Failed like Mckinley in his role, Tambling.... Vepreszi? Stack? Oh boy....

I'm optimistic about the eagle's future because I didn't start watching football yesterday. Every team does their time at the bottom and I can see WC are using it well. Richmond historically have drafted horribly and i'm not confident about the bombers list. I'm not going to list all the talented young players drafted in the past 4 years because everyone knows them.

and P.s. I don't bag and argue, i just give my opinion whether that agrees or disagrees with other posters doesn't bother me.

Mark Readings said on 6PR tonight that our playing list is not a happy one and that his sources at the club tell him that there are 8-10 blokes who want to leave and go elsewhere if they could but that none of them are out of contract at the moment. He did not name who the players were for obvious reasons. That sounds ominous. I don't know what the players have to complain about. They are putting on rubbish performances and being protected and molly coddled and very few of them even seem to be facing any consequences in terms of shorter and performance based contracts when contract time comes around. We are a spuds paradise at the moment - no consequences for crap efforts.

Maybe if we do have unhappy players who intend to leave when their contracts are up we should get on the front foot and trade them for a Mitch Clark or something similar rather than do our usual trick in the Worsfold era of hanging on to players untill either their trade value has declined to zero or they are out of contract and want to go and as such we have zero leverage in the negotiations and get unders for them.

Sounds like he's talking BS, pretty sure contracted players request trades every now and then...

I wouldn't be surprised if there was player discontent at West Coast (I actually read on EFH that Hurn isn't happy) but I think it's pretty common when a team is doing as poorly as we are.

Hopefully, the players talk to the relevant people and something is done to make them happy, if they are indeed upset... i.e. The coach is sacked. That seemed to work well enough at Essendon and I can't imagine why else a large amount of players would want out of the club.

Whatever the club does you would be on here saying how terrible it is. There is no independent thought or intelligence behind any of your opinions. Just a desperation to see everything that happens as the worstest thing ever.

Reminds me of someone...

Maybe if we do have unhappy players

So, really just a bunch of crap. Or is he referring to McKinley, Spangher, Hansen, Notte, Wilkes, Cockie, Sullivan, Nicoski? Yeah, that 8 combined might just land us Clark... good one big guy! Keep on punching buddy.

Not at all. I always post not just my opinion but the logic and reasons why i hold that opinion so that in the rare event that any of the buzzards that follow me around these boards are inclined to respond to my ideas and opinions and actually contribute something concrete to the debate rather than attacking me and just whingeing about my posts they can. It doesn't happen often but at least i give them the chance to respond intelligently and try and contriubte something other than abuse for other posters. No offence, but the fact that this distinction eludes you and you can't understand the difference does not surprise me.

If you or anybody else find my opinions negative then as i have said before, negativity and positivity are in they of the beholder. Just as are the concepts of good guys and bad guys. If that eludes or goes over the head of people on these boards i am not surprised either.

Since he referred to the players as being "under contract and unable to leave" i would therefore presume, Paran, that he is not referring to people not under contract and no longer employed at the club, like pretty much all the players you have just listed.

Do you understand the difference between currently under contract and employed at the club at this moment and being uncontracted and not employed by the club? Get out a dictionary and try and figure it out.

What a dumb asse attempt at a smart asse comment. And yeay, i am sure you know better than Mark Readings. You would have way more contacts at the club than a full time sports journo who has been around for decades.

In the eyes of the vast majority of posters, your posts are negative to the point of being imhumanely depressing. You may back them up with what you consider to be logic and reason, but that doesn't change the fact that everything is viewed through a half-empty glass. And frankly, it's becoming increasingly tiresome.

Since he referred to the players as being "under contract and unable to leave" i would therefore presume, Paran, that he is not referring to people not under contract and no longer employed at the club, like pretty much all the players you have just listed.

Justin Sherman is under contract but seemingly quite able to leave Brisbane. Andrew Walker is under contract but Carlton seem happy to entertain offers for him. Why haven't any of these unhappy contracted Eagles players asked for a move?

Your rants are predominantly just personal attacks at people now...

Brown was delisted by north in 2008 and maggies used pick 73 to draft brown

We tried to trade him but we basically got zero interest, couldn't even get a comedy pick to find him a new home. Mick wanted him to train a bit with them after we de-listed him so he could see if he was worth putting on the list late.

****ing hell you really do love those unnecessary e's don't you.

EDIT: Half expecting Ben Cousins ecstacy joke.

By all accounts McKinley has been at the club the last few days and has nominated us as his preferred choice. Not sure if anyone else was a realistic option, perhaps Crazy Eade.

With the mass exodus at Brisbane, they are interested in Gavin Urquhart from us and a 3-way trade is in the works with Sam Sheldon -> St Kilda, Gavin Urquhart -> Brisbane, McKinley -> North and assume there will be the usual shuffling of whatever picks are in the mix.

You should get a fair compensation for McKinley from us, we usually do no-nonsense trades with the Eagles.

hopefully our pick 28 and bmac for the compensation pick

What would you consider a fair trade Tas?

The difficulty I see is that your first round pick (17) is way too high but your second round pick (35 before compo picks) isn't of much use to us, unless we try to package it with 28 and get something higher. As it stands we've got 4, 26 and 28 and that's all we'll use, except to pick up Brennan which could be pick 100 if we wanted.

Saints will be throwing something in as well I assume because read nothing about any Saints players going out. Hopefully it gets done tomorrow and we finish up our trade with Hale tomorrow as well.

Should be a good result for both clubs.

Even though four-way trades are obviously unlikely, how about this?

Brisbane gain: Urquhart
Brisbane lose: Sheldon

North gain: McKinley
North lose: Urquhart

Saints gain: Sheldon, pick 28
Saints lose: pick 24

Eagles gain: pick 24
Eagles lose: McKinley, pick 28

With later picks thrown around to even it up a bit. I think Brisbane are getting a little too good a deal

I am not sure what Sheldon's value is tbh, Saints have pick 24 and 42 for their first two picks. 42 likely to be 45ish depending on how many cash in the compensation picks this year.

A lot depends on what the clubs feel the respective value of Sheldon, Urquhart and McKinley are. I would imagine the major part of the pick that come from Saints will go to Eagles and there might be a bit of upgrading here or there with other picks until all three parties are happy with the end result.

Yeah, seems a bit weird Saints getting Sheldon for just a 4 spot downgrade and Brisbane seem to come out well in that. Wouldn't mind seeing something extra come floating our way but seriously, have nfi really. Very hard to predict what will happen in 4-ways.

So what happened when Worsfold said we were going to get players in trade week? Jetta re-signed, Sherman not interested, Josh Hill wants to be at Hawthorn, what else is left? No one wants to come play here, even the home grown guys, ugh

Very hard year to trade for players, most clubs tied up players due to GC paranoia so you are stuck with the dilemma of getting contracted players agree to move, most of those moving are either disgruntled or are prepared to move due to a lack of opportunity. GC has picked up anyone with a pulse (Fraser) that is uncontracted.

Honestly Tas, don't come on this board and talk sense.:p We're the spooners, hate the coach, call most of the players spuds and just want to see a major blood letting! And it doesn't look like it will happen, so everyone is disappointed and angry!:p;)
