there is talk of him going home next yr when his contract expires, we need to try and get the best possible deal this year.
we may have taken him at pick 13, but there is no way he is worth that. id jump at a straight swap for pick 16. the lad turns the ball over at every opportunity, he has done through the port ranks and now doing it with us. can find it, but needs to use it a hell of a lot better.
yes he has played 50 odd games and looks like being a 200 gamers, but id prefer pick 16 used on a player who can use the ball who looks like being a 200+ gamer. not to mention this is a strong draft.

If Port want Ebert its a 1st rounder or Surjan + their 2nd for Ebert and our 3rd or something close to that.

For another thought if today we get a pick in the 30's for McKinely and a 4th rounder for Spangher would we consider trading our pick 28 for one of the band 2 compensation picks and then saving that for next season or the year later? Obviously the club with that band 2 pick was intending to use it this season anyway and gets a sweetener.

Basically if we know we have more picks than we have senior spots to fill we use, say pick 37 (traded in), instead of using pick 28. We trade 28 + maybe a later pick (Spangher rnd 4) for a band 2 compo pick that we then bank for a year or even two. If we wait untill 2012 that pick could be a low 2nd rounder (18 > 22).

Just a thought.:rolleyes:

Norf are offerrring pick 69 for Mckinley - no one else interested
I say throw in our pick 62 and get pick 52

0959: Trade murmur: Peter Rhode from Port Adelaide says a decision on Daniel Motlop will be made today. Rhode confirmed there is interest in the troubled forward and if a move is to be made, it will be made today. It has again been mooted that a move for Motlop to a Victorian club could be linked to a proposed move of West Coast youngster Brad Ebert, cousin of Port's Brett

We haven't made any decisions this trade week.

We need to trade spang and McKinley. Hopefully for pick upgrades.

These are a must.

Then i reckon we should trade kerr we wont but he's rotting away with us and would do so much better elsewhere and whatever team he goes to would probs win a premiership.

get a kid in the $2 shop, the wise decision is to not buy. The eagles desision not to trade for rubbish has been a wise decision.

im not sure i'd be happy with motlop + ports first rounder for ebert. Remember shuey and scooter share a house with ebo. Rule number 1. Dont break up a happy home.

That doesn't sound like the deal that is being proposed. I think it's more like:
Ebert -> Port
Motlop -> Victorian club
Someone or draft pick from Vic club -> Eagles

Even if we would accept pick 16 (which I wouldn't) that would mean that a Victorian club would be giving up a high pick or quality player for Motlop, which I can't see happening.

Yeah i agree with that, sorry i've just woken up and still a little hazy. Something to do with blondes and carnal activities.

Ok, that's the second time you've used the word dumb and as I've told you previously, it only really applies to you. GM must stand for Gullible Moron if you're touting mark readings (or is it Generic Message for the ability to say the same thing again and again... actually I like General Muppet - Brad Hardie's muppet - hah! I'm sure you'd be very happy with that situation!) , which frankly, explains a lot. Getting "facts" from those reporters are like having an argument with my wife - they go with the moto "why go for accuracy when you can go for DRAMA?!" Of course that seems to also explain you, so maybe you are going through menopause and we should all be a little bit more sensitive to all the issues a true nitwit like you view through at this time in their lives. I mean making arguments out of straw hovels and hot air is nothing new around here, and I guess persistence is a virtue that should he commended despite the stupidity, narrow mindedness and shirt sightedness that accompanies it.

Though riddle me this "dumb asse", why didn't he name a single player? Maybe his source is the bf forums... how would you know?? Just keep trotting out these bs sources and keep sounding like a broken record with no tune. Or just do us all a favour and f your dumb asse off to talk radio with the rest of the yoyos.

We have a lot of young inside midfielders and Eberts kicking/decision making isnt getting any better so if they are thinking about it just do it I reckon.

He topped many of the stats for WC last year which is impressive for a young player. He is a future leader. He is part of the young brigade coming through who want to stick together and challenge for a premiership.

And... His kicking WILL improve. Don't write off players so early

Where's this rumor coming from. I haven't heard any such thing. If true yeah trade, for atleast a first round.

Players let their intentions know before trade week so the club can try and work out a trade. They don't change their mind on a whim.

Not to mention... Isn't he in Mexico atm partying with his teammates?

Eagles have a lot of highly rated players - everyday it's going to be another mid that gets the trade rumour floated.

I dont think it has mentioned he has just changed his mind. If his contract runs out next year he may look at going back to adelaide. Im am curious as to his contact status and if it does run out next year why haven't we negotiated a new deal. GWS come in next year and would love young players. Sheeds is one person that has mentioned the young talent on our list. We know he will chase Naita.

20 yo who led the team in kicks is still quite impressive. We've pumped 50 games into him too - would expect a top 7 pick at least, or another player of similar ilk. Maybe Surjan and 15.
