I expected Krakouer signed, Mackinley traded, Spangher driven into the middle of the desert and left there and Hansen to retire.

I did not expect Shuey linked with any other team:(

1457: Trade mumurs: Hawthorn have confirmed they are intrested in Western Bulldogs forward Josh Hill, North Melbourne tall David Hale and an unnamed defender. The Hawks have also denied having any interest in Port Adelaide forward Daniel Motlop and admit they are unlikely to snare Fremantle defender Chris Tarrant.

could the unamed defender be Spangherrrrrrrrrr

Pick 8 in this draft does not equal what Shuey is worth.

Not even if they gave us Myers, Pick 8, Second Round pick, for Shuey.

I agree, but it leaves us in a good position for the draft.

Plus this could be all crap

okay, i understand everyone is pissed off to the thought of shuey leaving.

BUT

Pick 4 and 8 thats very very very good..

the way you put it, it's as if we get pick 4 in the trade...

just because we have pick 4, it doesn't make pick 8 any better.

losing shuey is very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very bad.

which outweighs the 'very very very good'ness of having picks 4 and (!!!) 8.

we already have pick 4 so it's irrelevant

So - is the bloke picked at pick 8 better than Shuey?

Highly unlikely

Is masten better than judd?

If a player wants to go home, they want to go home.

You just try to get the best deal done.

I dunno what has been said but if it's true, he does want to go back to Melbourne then you go after pick 8.

Tyson Goldsack?

Here's an idea, how about we just retain Shuey and f**k off all this trade talk about him!!
Let's keep it in perspective - it's a twitter rumour about Essendon asking about him.

Just saying we have pick 4 and 8 in the draft if thats the case.

getting pick 8 for a player that has done nothing on the field is pretty good.

I rate shuey very highly but i'm just saying if he wants to leave, we all have to accept it and hope we get the best out of the trade.

no larri, he is leaving for sure.

This. My aunt's gardener's neighbour overheard Shuey on his mobile while in a crowded street. My aunt said that her gardener said that his neighbour said that Shuey said that he was going home.

So he's definitely seeking a trade to Essendon.

Or he was flying home for the holidays. Or he was just going home to get changed.

Just my thoughts and what I think we should do this trade week.

If we want to secure Josh Hill maybe we could do a straight swap for Mckinley or Spangher + 62. Definitely pick 45 if the dogs accept that, pick 28 would be over-paying though.

Apparently Mckinley wants to go to Carlton or North Melbourne. If we trade him to Carlton then maybe we could strike a deal with us trading Mckinley + 26/28 for Carlton's pick 18, or trade him in return for Carlton's pick 37. But if he wants to go to North Melbourne, then a straight swap for their pick 36 would be fair.

As for Spangher, maybe we could strike a deal with dogs for Josh Hill, like the one mentioned above. Afterall they have just lost Everitt, Spangher would be a good replacement. If he wants to go to Carlton, Spangher + 45 for Carlton's pick 37 would be fair.

Then, with Spangher and Mckinley both interested in joining Carlton, maybe we could trade both of them + pick 28 for Carltons pick 18.

Another idea I had was a three way deal. Mckinley to Geelong, Djerkurra to WB, Hill to WC.

Then if we want to secure Andrew Krakouer's services, I would hope pick 45 would be enough, but with Collingwood apparently offering GC their first rounder for Krakouer and Ceglar (?), maybe we could offer our pick 26 for the same deal, which I think could work with Krakouer wanting to stay in WA. This way we'll also secure a young ruckman, who'll hopefully be ready once Cox retires.

This would be my ultimate (reasonably realistic result):

Spangher + Mckinley + 28 to Carlton for Pick 18.
Pick 26 to Suns for Krakouer + Ceglar.
Pick 45 to WB for Josh Hill.

This would mean we gain Pick 18, Krakouer, Ceglar, Hill.
And lose Pick 26, Pick 28, Pick 45, Spangher, Mckinley.

So we'd go into the draft with Pick 4 (Heppell or Gaff) , Pick 18 (Lamb or Darling) and Pick 62 (Brennan). Then with our PSD pick we can select whoever, and we can upgrade Stevenson to the main list. Whilst delisting 2 of Nicoski, Bones or Hansen.

I personally think this would be a great result for us :thumbsu:
