according to the trade winds chat on afl.com.au, we're interested intrading Cox + a draft pick for clark.
I don't think Worsfold would be stupid enough to trade for mature players because it would indicate that he's feeling the pressure and that he places his job ahead of the club.
It would also rob him of his greatest excuse for our shit form over the last few years, at least in the eyes of the media and the more stupid supporters - "Young, developing side".
Worse yet, it could suggest he's losing faith in the youngsters and then he'll come across fire because he didn't develop them properly or we didn't draft well etc.
So, long story short, a mature aged pick up (I'm talking 26+) would be equal to the world imploding.
apparently Hansen is weighiing up his future and considering retirement.
How anybody can say that trading out a Dean Cox or a Daniel Kerr for a Mitch Clark isn't worth it or a good deal is utterly beyond me. Cox and Kerr both have probably 2 seasons/30-50 games left in them. Clark has likely 8 years and 120-150 games left in him.
I completely agree. That's why I've been an advocate of trading out Cox and Kerr.
Saying that they're required players and going on about how good they currently are, or can be, when fit, isn't taking into consideration that those two won't be around to help WC win their next flag. WC should be rebuilding with players under the age of 23. The club and fans need to put sentiment aside so that the squad can be molded into a future force, not bolstered for the impatient who want limited success as early as next season.
He won't be able to though. In my view we won't be involved much in trade week. Worsfold won't agree to trading out any significant players to get players for the future and the club won't agree to letting him trade out picks for old players, which is clearly what he is wanting to do. The end result will be that we will be involved in very few trades other Spangher and McKinley.
HOULIHAN, HOULIHAN Are you flipping CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!I'm thinking/hoping that there will be more delistings depending on what happens in the trade week, just holding fire atm, surely Hansen couldn't be staying on unless for salary cap reasons, nor Bones now Brennan is on the list. Houlihan and Nicoski are other possible delistings - Nicoski has no right at all to be on the list for mine.
See that would work if the side delisted lynch nicoski and such why keep them and get rid of cox?
Agree with everything in this post except for Dick at 26.i really see no point in getting clark.
he will cost us a heap, and he isnt exactly what we require. we need quality running players.
rich i certainly would go for.
corey is/was a gun, but i just dont see the point now.
no to leon davis
yes to brad dick, would give pick 26 for him.
I thought someone like Adelaide could use with a defender like Spangher...
Why? Their SANFL affiliate short on tall defenders?
