Maybe you can start by telling me the names of the 20 plus players you claim we have turned over on our senior list in the last 3 years? I am still waiting for those 20 plus names.

Just for kicks I've tried to work out who the 20 players were. I don't have all of them because I only know last years in terms of the rookie list and I've probably missed a few delistings here and there.

You'd assume that we got rid of at least 2 rookies in 2007 and 2008, so that would be 20 players, at least.

If anyone knows of a player I've missed, speak up because I'm curious.

End of 2009 (9):

Fletcher
Hunter
McNamara
Seaby
Staker
Stenglein
Wirrapanda
Bedford
Davis

End of 2008 (5):

Armstrong
Braun
Graham
Jones
Thomson

End of 2007 (4):

Judd
Jones
Morton
Chick

Still following me around the boards like a stalker making flayling attempts at landing a killer blow. Yoru the one who needs to learn to throw a punch. You haven't landed one yet despite your disturbing obsession with me and my posts. The fact that they are not letting him trade away pick 4 this year does not take away from the fact that they have not made him make any significant changes to his playing list, game plan, tactics or man management style in the last 4 years despite very average results.

Why would i need to land a blow? - you keep smacking yourself on the chin with every post. Just quoting you for humour now.

Aside from quotes from Brad 'The Gambler' Hardie - you actually have no evidence for any of your arguments.

Just point out the evidence where worsfold is trying to force the club into trading pick 4.

Just for something new - try substantiang an argument for once with objective evidence - go on - try it - just one bit of evidence woosha is desperate to give up pick 4 for someone old. Extra points if they have a bung knee!

Keep punching Geoffe!!

This is my crack at the 20. Not that scientific as I couldn't locate the year by year lists. Its 18 and excludes rookies including guys like Ryan Davis (who was a rookie but played 14 games)....

18's a fair few, when you look at the names you'll note that a few of the 18 were pretty handy.

I think the point made by Falcon is pretty decent.

2007:

Judd, Cousins, Chick, Jones, Morton, Sampi, Wooden

2008:

Braun, Jones, McNamara, Armstrong, Thompson

****, quite a few premiership players in there

Clark's manager said in an article I read (don't remember where) that he put up his hand for a trade a couple months ago when the Lions' salary cap pressure came to a head. He didn't specifically want a trade, but he would be willing to go if it came to it. Part of the reason was that he prefers to play a CHF role, rather than lead ruck.

Surely with the incoming substitute rule we could use a player like him. Naita would obviously be 1st ruck and Clark could mostly play forward (or CHB if needed as he is good there too) and give Naita a chop out too.

Obviously with Cox, Naita and Clark, something would have to give so as much as I love Cox (no homo), it would be really beneficial for us to include him in the trade and to take the Naita/Clark ruck combo into the future IMO. Failing that, we would be forced to play Clark as a permanent forward or defender until Coxy loses his place in the side or retires, which I guess wouldn't be too bad so long as we don't pick super-tall sides as a result.

Did Clark play forward with Kennedy in East Fremantle 2005 ?

Well that puts it to bed. Geoff Miles was way off in his abuse and critism in regards to the rebuilding state. That is a major rebuild.

The unsourced comment of Worsfold wanting to trade pick 4 can also be written off as personal opinion.

important to differentiate between a re-build and a referesh.

Re-building would entail deleting senior players and replacing them all with juniors.

Refresh would entail deleting senior players and replacing them with other senior players.

Brisbane as an example would probably have as many deletions of the list last year as any club - however adding 6 blokes in all around 26 years of age - is hardly going to the well of re-building.

The only quality players are Glass Kerr Cox & Waters. It's very hard to build a team around so few quality senor players and even moreso when they're not on the park due to injury.

Yes, I remember now.
AFL players don't seem to be able to come back after a leg break. Nathan Brown and Goose Mcguire weren't the same either - fingers crossed for Barlow.
I really hope they bring in a rule against diving over a players legs.

EDIT: Players can come back after a leg break

Or they could do what Woosha does.

Rehash. Play the same players again and again in another form without "significant" alteration to the original lineup. :thumbsu:

Comparing teams on the ground is considerably different to comparing list management - but it is a valid point. No point talking about a re-build and bringing in 20 blokes if none of them get a game

Regardless - we had something like 4 premiership players on the park for the last couple of months. that's a fair turnover in 4 years. not significant?
