I'd trade Mckinley for Corey. Wouldn't give us many years but he would give us good years.
Kerr, Corey and Shuey would be a good centre square.

Corey is exactly the type of player we should avoid.

No disrespect to him as a player or person because he has been a very, very good player and a multiple premiership player but he has had some pretty hard years lately.

Corey's body has just gone through 3 years of grand finals and this year the qualifying final.

This list spot and $3>400 k per annum would be better spent developing someone younger who will be peaking in 2>4 years not retiring.

Every team Should do around a 10 year cycle from Premiership contenter to Premiership Contender.

We are rite in the middle of our re-build and I would be dissapointed if we went with any player over 23 years of age.
By my calculations we should be contenders by around 2013/2014 and that should run for around 3 years, then time to re-build again.

By 2013 guys like shuey, Scooter, Swift, Stevens, Sheppard, Masten, Ebert, Brown, Mackenzie, Schofield, Hams, Strijk, Naitanui, Smith, Neates, J.Jones and Houlihan should all be around 100 games and be battle hardend.

Guys like Lecras, Hurn, Waters, Butler, Priddis, Kennedy and Rosa will be up around 150+ and be veterans of the side.

So by then if we keep all of these players on our list our side
FB- B.Waters, Mackenzie, Schofield
HB- S.Hurn, M.Brown, A.Smith
C- M. Rosa, Masten, Houlihan
HF- Strijk, Kennedy, Sheppard
FF- LeCras, ______, Hams
RR- Naitanui, Shuey, Stevens
Int- Neates, Rosa, Butler.
SUB- Swift
Emg- S.Selwood, Ebert, Priddis

We are missing that FF spot and I believe Jack Darling will slide in their and by 2013/2014 have around 50 games under his belt.

Yes, I remember now.
AFL players don't seem to be able to come back after a leg break. Nathan Brown and Goose Mcguire weren't the same either - fingers crossed for Barlow.
I really hope they bring in a rule against diving over a players legs.

EDIT: Players can come back after a leg break

???? Please put a sarcastic face at the end of statements like this. Are you serious? Nobody would smother any more cause they'd be too scared to get suspended!

Ben McKinley (West Coast): Wants to come home to Victoria and live on either Arden St or Royal Pde.

Jonathon Griffin (Adelaide): Wants to live in Perth.

Matt Spangher (West Coast): Looking for a Melbourne home.

Brennan Stack (W Bulldogs): Has ties to Western Australia.

Josh Hill (W Bulldogs): West Coast the frontrunner.

Probably a little behind with the Hill thing... And which club is on Royal Parade?

Given Palmer broke Barlow's leg, who would get the free kick??

Possible trades for us: Josh Hill, Andrew Krakouer, Brennan Stack, Daniel Motlop.

Will Thursfield maybe on the table too, we could do with a good KP backman. Stack will fill the void left by McKinley. Motlop I would take without giving too much the other way. Hill is almost a certainity just need the right trade. Krakouer's situation shold become more clear by tomorrow or Thursday but not too fussed by missing him if thats the case.

Mackenzie, Brown, Schofield, Glass + Spangher if we keep him.

We have more important issues we need to prioritise.

What a list, rivals the plethora of talent we brought in under Judge in 2000. Collica, Harding, Merenda, Prior, Sierakowski & Taylor.
I always liked Merenda, and held high hopes for him. Unfortunately by the time he got to us his body was stuffed

There hasn't been a rule brought in because it can't work in AFL. It's very dangerous though. Leg related injuries might also increase with the new high free kicks being payed forcing players to get lower than their opponent. But hasn't happened yet.

P.s. There would be no free kick. Just like when Setanta kicked Cameron Cloke in the crutch.

Looks like we dodged a bullet, according to the Hun:

There are a few clubs that have interest in Daniel [Motlop]," said Rohde, confirming neither West Coast nor Fremantle is among the suitors for Motlop, who has personal reasons to move to Perth where his son Jesse now lives.

What a dumb statement. We need Cox to teach NicNat do we? Have you heard of coaches? Teaching young players is what coaches do for a living.

You grossly over state Cox's form expecting him to be AA for the next 3-4 years when he has not be in AA form for the past 3-4 years now.

The fact that you claim Cox is worth a top 5 pick fhen he has 2 seasons left in him but Clark isn't is bizarre and reflects your lack of knowledge.

Coming from the king of baseless comments this is pretty bl00dy rich! Do you ever do any actual research or is your gut some sort of encyclopedia of everything eagles? (Proof indicates it's more likely full of the usual bile and gas) You consistently make dumb, brash, unsubstantiated comments and pass them off as fact - the worst kind of BF poster. You did the same thing as 15_year_member and are gutless enough to pretend that you're a completely different poster.

You consistently make "dumb statements" and dare people to prove you wrong, then when they do you simply ignore them and carry on. Time and again this has happened, but for some reason it hasn't got through that you are a dead set pretender. Here's some of your own medicine - look at the ruck stats per minute and tell me where Coxy sits? My point proven - like that? Pure Geoffe Miles style. Then look at how many good games Clark had this season compared to Cox - point proven again! Hah, this is fun!

Definition of "dumb statement" is intimating that players don't learn anything from teammates or other players - do I really need to explain how that is a "dumb statement"?! You probably shouldn't use the word "dumb" a lot, because even though you seem to be constantly surrounded by it you don't seem to recognise it.

this just in from foxsports

1131: Trade murmurs: This from Vince on the email: "Word is going around that Ben McKinley just completed a fitness test with Carlton? Any truth to that?" It's news to be ... can anyone shed any light on the matter?

mackinley for grigg sound good?>

nah - we've got enough workhorses with average skills.

Mckinley and 28 for Garlett sounds good :D

Also looks like Motlop is a no go for WCE (thank god)

Port Adelaide forward Daniel Motlop is in demand, according to The Advertiser, but his desired move to WA may not come about after neither of the Perth clubs were among several suitors.
