Grigg is leaving because he wants more playing time. He isnt going to move across the country just to be a depth player. its almost an insult to be a depth player at a wooden spooner.

as for mckinley, he just doesnt fit in with type of players we have and gamestyle we are trying to create. besides he really plays in Lecras position.

Why?
Top teams trade for players and bottom teams draft players. Trading is usually only worth it if you get a decent player which only happens with 1st round draft picks. Also usually its head hunting for specific voids in a team.
Should the eagles really start trading away their picks in the twenties for medi-ochre players?

None of Tambling, Walker or Sherman would make a great deal of difference to the side. All good players on their day but I would say the same about Scott Selwood, Koby Stevens and Tom Swift who were all drafted in the twenties in the last 2 years.

I'd rate Shuey alone as better than anything we'd have left at pick #8.

I always thought of Shuey as a bit of a flight risk given what has happened in the past with his sister. If his parents/family still are not holding up too well, nothing in the world may stop him from going back to support them.

But then again tis silly season. We are apparently entertaining Zac Clarke to Richmond for Thursfield and their second rounder!! Lol

If the basic deal is Shuey for pick 8 then I'd think it'd be Essendon throwing in the sweetener, not us.

Maybe Shuey, McKinley and pick 45 for Essendon's picks 8 and 30?

(Should add, this is only in the event that Shuey comes to us and says he wants to go home to his family. Which'd be understandable in his circumstances).
