Carlton seem to be the only team that's interested in both McKinley and Spangher.
How about trying for a couple of pick upgrades:
McKinley + Spangher + Pick 28 + Pick 45 > Carlton
Pick 18 + Pick 36 > WCE
It would be handy to upgrade our Pick 28 to a 1st rounder because any team that uses their 1st round GC compensation picks would go before our 2nd Round Draft Pick, which means our pick 28 could slip to pick 32.
This would help us find some space on our Senior List to elevate Lewis Stevenson so that we don't risk losing him, and we would have Draft Picks 4, 18, 26 & 36.
Supposedly North Melbourne has shown interest in McKinley too, so alternatively we could try:
McKinley + Pick 28 > North Melbourne
Spangher + Pick 45 > Carlton
Pick 17 + Pick 36 > WCE

Of course it would be handy for WC, Silver, but that trade will not happen because it's unrealistic. Clubs don't give away 1st rounders, or upgrades into 1st rounders for fringe types.

It would be better than accepting the 3rd and 4th round picks that are rumoured to have been offered to us for Spang and B-Mac, which we wouldn't even use anyway.
Its a better proposal than the previous shown offer. And hardly outside the realms of possibility. More than likely any player available at 18 is available at 26 anyway.

It's better for him given his age that he goes to a club in Collingwood's position and also a team that only travels a few times per year, which will help prolong his career.
I would've liked him for the right price, but wouldn't have been prepared to match Collingwood's offer or even offer our pick 26 or 28.

You got to seriously wonder about the intelligence quotient of this board when people think anyone in their right mind would take BMac AND Spanger off our hands for a top 20 pick in exchange for our pick 26. Why not throw in Nicoski and aim for a top 10? (before anyone gets too excited, that was sarcasm)
