3rd round pick for Meyer would be fair.

then a third round pick for Meesen would be fair.

one was pick 8 , the other 12 - in the same draft - and both haven't proved anything as of yet - only major difference is that Mesen has had injury issue's and Meyer hasn't

for the record - i don't think either of these guys are worth a third rounder - much higher. doubt anyone would trade draft picks for either of these blokes - too hard to judge actually current value & projected value

richo - too old
Schultz - maybe 2nd round rick
meyer - want to see more this year before calling it.
Would look at Schultz for 4th round pick but Cleve Hughes is one I would trade for 2nd round pick perhaps. Trouble is he is now getting a chance at AFL level and is showing his goods. What do you think Drummond?

I have met the guy, quality bloke too and he does seem happy to be here but he did say he does want an opportunity to show everyone he has got talent. This was during the pre season while I was at the Alma with some mates so maybe his patience is wearing thin. He more than likely would be playing now if it weren't for the injury but they are the breaks you get sometimes.

end of the day, somehow adelaide have ended up with about 5 quality ruckmna, who possibly would all get regular game time in 8 other footy sides.

it does seem like there will be atleast one who will be forced to leave, unless they see their career fall away due to too much competition for the one/two spots - and not enough oppurtunitys

your on coke:p

4th rounder for schulz?? you must be mad - 2nd rounder for cleve? crazier again! why would richmond want to trade 2 players who have both shown they cna hold down a key forward postion - both under 22 years of age - for a late 20's draft selection (which could be a dud) or a pick in the 50's!!!

seriously dude, drugs are destroying your brain!

I'm really not trying to be offensive here - but there would be a difference in holding down a spot in the Richmond line up and holding down a spot in one of the top 8 teams.

You seem to be suggesting that both are worthy of top round picks. If thats the price Richmond was selling at, they wouldnt find many buyers.

if they have proven they can hold down KPP's - why would you want to sell at all?

One is a ruckman/KPP, the other is a flanker/onballer type.

We both know which type of player is of more value and in higher demand.

Your right, we would certainly be on something if we ever wanted to trade anyone from that rabble. Nice trouncing last weekend wasn't it?

Just out of interest who on Richmonds list would be worthy of a top 20 pick, excluding recent draftees.

Deledio - Top 10
Rains - 15-20
Tambling - around 20.
Brown - before the injury, around 15-20.
Simmonds - around 20.

BTW it's not meant to be a troll.

thing with deledio is, to 15 clubs hes worth probably...pick 10-15.

to richmond he'd be worth 2 top ten picks.

and thats mainly because richmond wouldnt want to admit they made an error with deledio, rather than him actually being a gun player for them.

1 good match for cleve and schulz played 2 good matches in his entire life. Yeah i am sure a top 10 pick is on the cards here  ,then richard douglas should be worth your 1st pick this year?

Maybe to bigfooty people but has not done anything to suggest that he is not a top5 pick still. He is developing nicely.

you could probably say the same with our list. In 2-3 yrs their younger players will gain some value

Exactly. Ridiculous comparison. Small, light, unproven mids are a dime a dozen. I'd rather take my chanes in the draft. If he'd shown a bit and played 20/30 games, then a first rounder may be on the cards.

Meesen & draft pick 10 for draft pick number 1?

that or nothing!

Trade our first pick and our most naturally gifted ruckman, for a number 1 pick  This in a draft where the best players are rucks.

Might as well hop in the time machine and go back 2 years.

If he's so natrally gifted why hasn't he played before? yeah he's injured now but when he returns to full fittness will he go straight into the side?....how long unitl he's fit again? i'd like to see him play and what he has to offer!

Because unlike some Clubs, our list is strong enough that we don't need to throw new draftees straight to the Lions.

The fact that they're allowed to develop properly in the SANFL is part of the reason why players like Douglas, Knights and Griff can come into the side and put in a decent performance.

Would probably be nothing, then. No-one would swap a number one pick for a mid-first round and an unproven ruckman.
