What's done is done, we need to accept Tarrant. Like it or not he's part of the purple posse now.

There is no way that Tarrant's value has gone up. If we were to attempt to trade him after one year it would send a message that he has some serious issues, we'd be lucky to get a pick in the top 20 after trading away one in the top ten in a much stronger draft along with 2 players.

Croad was 21 when he arrived and his trade value dropped considerably even though he was only 23 when he left. Tarrant turns 28 next season.

What about Tarrant + Murphy, for Ray + first round pick

No reason to trade Mundy. This really annoys me, not just cause he is my Fav behind Pav, but because we dont need to keep trading away good young players so early in their careers. If you look at the other rising stars from Mundy's year, Griffen from the Bulldogs has had an injury interrupted year but when he was in the side for a period of time he struggled... are the Bulldogs going to just trade him away? Hell no.

hase has said that he cant see himself playing past 28 -29. this is his last contract so he is trying to get as much as he can out of it

Well the Dockers have been a real disappointment for over a decade i really think they should retire Parker has been a good defender and Macmanus has always been hot and cold other players Justin Longmuir is another guy i would get rid of. I think the club would be crazy not to trade Paul Haslebury for a round 2 pick i think he is more of a liability like Whitnall is to my club saying that i wouldn't want us to pick him up. I would try keeping Peter Bell for another season.

Hasleby is a great player and oozes class, we just need a fast midfielder to work with him and we'd be fine. Its kinda like Hodge/Lewis + Mitchell... Mitchell is the slow midfielder with in and under skills where as Hodge and Lewis run and carry it, kick it well.

You wrong there players like him have let the club down in the last 3 years, the club should have been a top 8 side or even in the 4,he is to slow, injured and always looks like he is has to much weight on him.

Anyone who wants to trade Hasleby needs to get a grip.

OUR MIDFIELD IS POOR ENOUGH ALREADY.

Trading Haze, despite his injuries/perceived slowness, is a really bad idea. We have a hard enough time winning clearances already. Tell me again why we should trade Hasleby?

Look where the club has been in the last few years, like our club who are the players who should be stars nearly each week and not injured all the time setting the club no where.

Personally I would give up our 1st round pick for Hasleby.

You are joking, why would Collingwood lose the chance of getting a possible gun midfielder who could fall around 9-12 like Cyril Rioli or someone like Rhys Palmer who should go top 5 but maybe was there at your first pick, don't get another Woewodin, you could set up your midfield like we will in the next few years if you pick the right players.

Thanks for your thoughts, but we can't really take them seriously when you can't spell half of our teams names correctly.

At the moment the players aren't looking for him. If he was the main leading target with a good understanding with the midfield he's capable of kicking big bags.

At the speed the game is played, the ball is kicked to the forward in the best position, which is almost never Murphy. Medhurst kicked goals when he was the main target, but it didn't win us many games. When we changed the game plan to make our forward line multi-pronged, we did a heap better.

But the real issue with Murphy is that he contributes almost nothing else, apart from being a (in theory) potential goal kicker. Minimal possesions, and minimal defensive pressure.

The Hase is a club legend. Trading him would be absolutely insane.. Required player, leads almost every category for the club in terms of clearances, 1st possessions.. it would be absolute madness to trade a guy of such quality.

Hadrill and browne are both injury prone as the years have proved we need a fresh start- new blood we only have 5 players under 21 yrs which is alarming
and a couple of them are on the rookie list ie smith and copping

Are you sure?

Drum, Warnock, Ibbotson, Collard, O'brien and The Shadow Man would all be under 21. There is some class there. Add 3 or 4 draft picks next year, and lose some of our aging players, and the average age will fluctuate like mad. Statistics need to be scrutinised a little more than The Worst does.

big NO to trading Hase

don't approve at all the thought of dumping him when his has been such a fantastic player for us in leaner times - i expect a bit of loyalty from the club back to such a player

maybe a bit slow (which is proabably down to injuries) but brilliant footy brain & tries his guts out & fair clean player - required player imo - if for nothing else as a role model for youngsters coming through

Haselby is our most talented midfielder. I think a big preseason could really see this guy become one of the best midfielders in the competition.

Too many times i've seen him try to sneak out the back of packs or run in opposite directions to his opponent when they have the ball. Lately he's decided to dive for free kicks in tight packs.

He's a shadow of the player he was yet still in our top 3 midfielders at the club.

One of my favourite players, a return to form for Hasleby means a return to form for Fremantle.

He should hire a dietician for 25,000 a year to shop for his food and outline his meals. I mean someone has to work closely with this guy. We all know he does enough exercise to be a ripped/lean person. It must be his diet where he falls down.

Well Jetau, you can thank your mate CC for the state of the team. Traded away our top draft picks for slow old hacks. We are in a poor state and St Kilda showed how piss weak we are. It is going to take some time to rebuild.

Haslebury, lol,i noticed all the mistakes,oh well it was late when i did post it,i still believe your mad signing a 3 year deal for someone like Hasleby,i would look for a sucker to trade for a quick young midfielder from another club, put that guy in the midfield along with Peake,Headland, the midfield from this year draft,Bell,Josh And Matthew Carr,Clayton Collard,Bryon Schammer and Garrick Ibbotson, the midfield will look quicker. It's just my opinion anyway, don't be fool like i've been with the overpriced players we had for years bleeding the last few years because they had some good years in crap years or were finished, but tried getting another contract. There is plenty of experience in that midfield,Headland,J.Carr,M.Carr,P Bell and also M Pavlich.

We only have 4 players that average over 20 possessions a game. Hase is actually a way in front of the next few, and the youngest of the group. He is our most prolific ball winner, and almost always uses the ball well. A lot of his ball winning is in close and contested, and his disposals often by hand to clear.

1. Paul Hasleby (age 26) - 19 games - 23.32 average possessions
2. Peter Bell (age 31) - 20 games - 21.85 average possessions
3. Heath Black (age 28) - 17 games - 21.41 average possessions
4. Josh Carr (age 27) - 19 games - 21.00 average possessions

(Next in line)
5. Shaun McManus (31) - 20 games - 17.95
6. Des Headland (26) - 17 games - 17.71
7. Michael Johnson (22) - 16 games - 17.69
8. Matthew Pavlich (25) - 20 games - 17.15
9. Ryan Crowley (23) - 17 games - 16.94
10. Steven Dodd (24) - 15 games - 16.87

Far out,i didn't look at it that way boy,Black 29 next year,Carr 28,Headland 27,Hasleby 27 and Peter Bell 32,that looks a bit old,that midfield,way too many players 27 and older.

Problem is, Hasleby is our highest possession winner and he sits 32nd in the league. The next along is Bell and he is 50th in the league. With Bell possibly leaving, we can't afford to give up someone like Hase. We've known that he has a back problem ever since we drafted him (happened playing for Northampton as a youngen). We will continue to deal with it. He should be given a 2 year $600,000 (300k p/year) contract IMO.

trade hasleby or schammer plus murphy to richmond or carlto for a first round pick. pick up palmer with our first pick, and another gun with our second first round pick. let josh carr and hopefully belly teach them next year. when belly goes we should have two very very talented midfielders to solve our midfield crisis. simple!

We've essentially had the same midfield since 2003. The numbnuts incharge of drafting/midfield shouldn't have a job any more.. they simply did not draft the type of players we needed.

Trade Baits
Top 3
Mundy, Drum, Sandilands.(1st round at least)

Campbell Duffield Murphy.(worth 2nd round)

Thornton Browne Dunn.(worth a 3rd or 4th round)

Schammer Crowley Dodd( Possibilities ) and Tarrent Solomon combined.

you can offer our 2nd 3rd or 4th round picks with any of them to better our position in the draft.

And yes i know they are still contracted or have signed new deals but it means nothing in today world. If another club wants them they pay a fee plus they have to match their contracts payments or better it. If Freo want a Palmer Masten Morton etc you have to give these type of players up.
No way would i trade Haselby. Even Haddrill i believe has a lot to offer in defence.(should of played against STK IMO)
