yeah I obviously like the pair of them both young up and comers and have shown a fair bit. I would rather be playin Murphy than Tarrant because he is an accurate kick.

It's not much help being an accurate kick if you aren't getting the ball. Tarrant's ball winning ability is one of his greatest assets. There is nothing wrong with his field kicking. Sure he's had problems with his goalkicking, but his accuracy is not actually much different to a lot of AFL forwards. The plan was for both to be in the team, but it appears that Murph decided there wasn't room.

What do you think he is worth say draft pick 10 maybe 15 maybe even 20 now that he can't get a game im not sure.

I wouldn't take anything less than a first rounder for him - although we'd probably be better off getting a ball winning, quick, skilful midfielder for him if we can. I'd prefer to see him stay - if he can fix up his attitude problems he could be part of a very formidable forward line with Taz, Pav and Wiz. If he does go, can't really see him going anywhere other than Victoria though, I doubt he'd go to the Swannies.

I wouldnt be surprised if Paul Duffields name is thrown around. Would be a good fit for a club like Carlton

Mundy on the other hand is best 22. Of course some posters don't like him or criticise his lack of hardness, but I expect all teams have players who cop that. He is way more valuable than Spud.

Only because we have a surplus of tall forwards. If I was Worsfold, Eade or Wallace I'd be much more interested in Murphy.

I'd be stoked to trade Murphy and Mundy for 2 first round picks. Mundy has less class than Johnson and much more trade value than Thornton, there isn't room for the three of them in the 22 IMO.

:eek::eek:

Trade mundy, destroy the club. He has shown today why he is not to be traded. I couldnt give a flying shit if you hate the guy because he doesnt show hardness, not every player does. Dal Santo is number one in the AFL for loose ball gets and really low for Hard Ball. Anyone want to get rid of him from the saints? Not a flipping chance. Get educated on the game, not everyone has to be a brick shithouse and run through everyone.

I don't hate Mundy. I just think that Mundy, along with Murphy, are dispensable.

Rewind the tape of today's game to 7 minutes 30 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Clearly pulls out of a marking contest. I don't think there would be another player in the competition who gets scared as often as Mundy.

There's a difference between not winning a lot of contested footy and pulling the handbrake. Suggesting that trading a half back flanker would destroy the club is ridiculous.

He didnt pull out of a marking contest, the ball was kicked over his head and he was not going to reach it, so why bother potentially injuring yourself Longergan style for the sake of some simpleton supporters wanting you to go in hard.

Mundy is the future of this club, whether you like it or not. I suggest you watch some football over the last 4 years and you'll see he is not the only one who does not go in hard.

Pathetic.

He could have reached it, he didn't want to. I just watched the tape again, he swears and is angry with himself for not going hard enough after that contest. Players go back with the flight all the time and there are very, very few serious injuries like Tom Lonergan's.

When you say he is the future of the club, I assume that you mean a future leader and regular placegetter in the B&F? I can't see him ever being more than a handy player who lacks courage.

He swears and is angry with the guy who kicked it because he was clear and free, but the kick was a mile over his head.

You're pathetic Dominguez, go back to support the Weagles, we true freo fans dont want you.

Mundy was BOG today. Sensational game.

Yeah, he is not the hardest player, but seriously, he set up about 10 goals today. Every disposal was centimetre perfect, other than one snap out of a pack on the wing, scoreboard side of the ground.

Easily our most dangerous player running out of the backline.

Okay, but only because you told me to.

Everyone has their favourite players, and people disagree from time to time. No need to get personal, maybe like Mundy you need to harden up.

Mundy is easily in the top 6 players at Freo. To talk of trading him you are either trolling or you really don't understand the game.

Murph could well be headed for the trade table though. And don't underestimate his currency. He can play. Not everyone fits at the club they start at or has a place in the coaches plans. Medders is starting to rip it up with the Pies and Polak has had a fair season. And for us Solly has been reborn. Recruit of the year.

I still think the most likely scenario is something involving Farren Ray and Murphy. I can see Ray on a wing at Subi with Mundy on the other wing.

Top six?? Hayden, Grover, Johnson and McPharlin are much more important, and that's just the backline. Mundy won't finish top six in the B&F, even though many of our best 22 haven't played 20 games.

He's an unaccountable defender who lacks pace but has great kicking skills.

Shut up will you.

Since when is criticism a lack of support?

He didn't pull out.... but he did "hear footsteps", and as soon as he realised any better, the ball was past him.

Still, the 10 odd goals he set up was worth it, don't you reckon?

Shouldn't at least some of the criticism be directed at the player that kicked the ball (McPharlin I think?) - it was a very poor kick and gave neither Mundy or Famer much chance of getting the ball. Too many Freo players can't make a decision in a situation like that and just bomb it somewhere in between, rather than kicking it to a specific player or at the very least, to their advantage. At least if it had been Mundy kicking it to the forward line, we know it would have landed on Farmer's chest :thumbsu:
