Trade Baits
Top 3
Mundy, Drum, Sandilands.(1st round at least)

Campbell Duffield Murphy.(worth 2nd round)

Thornton Browne Dunn.(worth a 3rd or 4th round)

Schammer Crowley Dodd( Possibilities ) and Tarrent Solomon combined.

you can offer our 2nd 3rd or 4th round picks with any of them to better our position in the draft.

And yes i know they are still contracted or have signed new deals but it means nothing in today world. If another club wants them they pay a fee plus they have to match their contracts payments or better it. If Freo want a Palmer Masten Morton etc you have to give these type of players up.
No way would i trade Haselby. Even Haddrill i believe has a lot to offer in defence.(should of played against STK IMO)

No to Drum, Dunn, Mundy, Sandilands, Campbell, Schammer, Crowley, Dodd, Tarrant, Solomon. Just no.

heath black plays in the back line. Gilmore has played a handful of games in a row. That is not our core midfield. Where did we draft Josh Carr from again?

You need to read your own posts. You said we had the same midfield since 2003, which is clearly and obviously wrong. Black plays through the midfield like a lot of our players, and would spend more time midfield than in the backline. J Carr is possibly our #1 midfielder, and Gilmore is just another example of how wrong your statement is. Headland and Bell have spent more time up forward as well. Significant changes.

trade hasleby or schammer plus murphy to richmond or carlto for a first round pick. pick up palmer with our first pick, and another gun with our second first round pick. let josh carr and hopefully belly teach them next year. when belly goes we should have two very very talented midfielders to solve our midfield crisis. simple!

If we bank on getting two "very very talented midfielders" who will dominate in two years time with our first two picks in the draft we will almost certainly be dissappointed.

History shows that around half of first round picks either turn out to be duds, injury prone, or slow developers.

I'd be pretty cautious about trading any player in our best 22 for a draft pick, let a guy like Hase who is in our best 5.

You're spot on Roundhouse. The general consensus seems to be that Murphy should be traded, but we forget that he was also a first round draft pick (no.12). What's to say that we will do any better this time around - you've only got to look at the likes of Sampi, McDougall and Polak for the disappointment available with a first rounder.

Fair enough re Murphy. At the end of next season he will be out of contract, and able to walk into the PSD as Polak threatened, and we will have little negotiating power. This year he can't as he is still contracted, and if he is not happy with his lot with the Dockers, then it is a good time to trade him. Also, if he has another season where he fails to do almost anything when selected in the team, any semblance of being a payer with "potential" will have all but evaporated.

As he has contributed so little (3 goals in total from 6 games. 4 kicks per game for .5 goals per game. Campbell has 5 goals from 4 games at 1.2 goals per game, also from 4 kicks a game.), a possible trade may help us rectify our midfield inadequacies without any obvious loss.

not sure how much you guys would want for him but what about Ryan Murphy and your second rounder for the swans first and third rounders.

I agree that it's probably in our interests to move him on Gav, my point was more in regards to the fact that a lot of people would seem to be happy to take whatever is on offer for him. We've put four years of development into him and there is no doubting his ability. His attitude seems to have been his biggest problem this year - whether he can or wants to work on that may be the decider as to where he plays next year. It's almost a carbon copy of the Polak situation last year, but at least we have a bit more control this time around.

Tatter's predicament can be traced back to a poor preason where he believed too much on wha tmite happen in 2007 instead of making it happen. yes with him under contract we hold all the cards but hopefully soufs will get into finals and he'll put up abig showing - increase his value.

I think i saw on another thread where DOm suggested tatter be worth pick 17-19?? tend to agree but Cam is known for frerreting out a deal??

Can't quite see that working. It's not Bargain Basement Sale Time.
well Murphy isin't even getting a game for you and we are hardly going to give you a first rounder for him. Is there any players on the swans list worth Murphy that could possibly go.

I was thinking that Schammer may be a chance for a trade but given his recovery from his medical procedure and good form, is this now unlikely?

Presumably the Dockers wouldn't accept anything below a 2nd round pick?

Scham just signed up for another 2 seasons. He loves Freo. He won't be going anywhere.

Depends where your first round pick ends up. At present you have pick 12, I'd be happy with that.

How about Example Swans give up draft pick 10 + 33 for Ryan Murphy, David Mundy

Now you are being silly. Even though some on here bag Mundy, he is a skilled player, and quite versatile. I also can't see us having that much tall player depth that we can lose 2 of them. Personally I think you would need to find another 1st round pick.

Yeah mate I was jus throwing it out there but when you think about it every one was ok with Ryan Murphy + pick 20 for pick 10 + 33 so in actual fact we would be giving you pick 20 for him and I think the fact we are giving you pick 10 for Murphy I think that would compensate. Just a thought sorry mate

The talk of trading Murphy centres around that he may attract a decent trade, not because he is not welcome on the list. He is still a developing player, who can mark and kick a goal.

Mundy on the other hand is best 22. Of course some posters don't like him or criticise his lack of hardness, but I expect all teams have players who cop that. He is way more valuable than Spud.
