That's an interesting one...Djerrkura has clearly said he's on the move, so maybe his manager has/will be talking to the Doggies? Will be interesting to see what is offered up though.

What would it take to get him away in terms of picks?

Would a 3rd or 4th round pick be enough?

Honestly I'm guessing, because it depends on whether there's other clubs interested (I'd guess there might be, but I don't know) as to what the player's value ends up being.

Anyway I would have said that around 40ish is fair, given the nature of this draft, but your picks are tied up aren't they? first at 60 I think?

Also you probably won't know what you have to deal with until you've done your deals for walker etc so DJ trade will end up waiting until after that I'd say.

He could be a nifty back up defender. Think of him as a depth player.

It's pretty much why I want the Doggies to keep Tim Callan. Not a great player but works hard.

Ah right. Honestly I've seen virtually nil of Tiller playing so I couldn't form an opinion. We do need more KPD on the list though.

The ol' Callan, forgot he was still going! We did gift him to you for a packet of chips though.

If we add a couple of players to the group that can add to the areas we are deficient in and then have a fit & healthy list come finals time (which we didn't this year) we can challenge once again.

Here Here.

I'm with you Pigdog. We lose three PF's in a row and it appears the club has decided to finally take some action with turning over our list and there a people on here squealing like pigs.

I really dont care who we move on in a trade ...... I just want to see the club do somehting positive. Yep, some moves may not pay off but it is better than sitting our hands and continue protecting some of the players that have proven they cannot get us there.

Anyone got an opinion on Grigg from caaaarlton. Seems he is shopping.

Left footer, quick, hard at it.

Have not seen heaps of him but has had some good patches from memory.

We need more lefties.

Much rather Grigg over Walker, mainly because of the age

But still would prefer to play our kids instead of getting fringe players from other clubs. hope we dont get too excited during trade week even though the club has said it will be 'aggresive'

Sherminator is the only exception :thumbsu:

I always get Grigg and Bower mixed up. Which one is the good one?

It was on Twitter - one of the Hun journalists. Said Djuekerra to Dogs was a done deal, for a high (or low!) draft pick - 4th round I think.

Wikipedia says 189 iirc.

Either way, it's a handy height. Tall enough to possibly take a 3rd tall down back, but not too tall as to hinder movement.

I was starting to warm to the idea of Djerrkura but then I remembered he had a history of quad injuries. I don't know how he has fared this year but from 2007-09 he missed 26 games (yes that's right twenty-six) with quad injuries. He's had at least one quad episode each year.

If it really is a done deal I hope Fantasia and the boys have done their due diligence and have a soft tissue management plan for him. If he's going to miss nearly half a season (and possibly pull up lame in a match) that's like getting half a player.

Fantasia was quoted on the AFL website in the article about Sherman (my emphasis):
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/103519/default.aspx
"It's always a very unknown week," Fantasia said. "What I'd love to see is a few deals get done early.
"I think it will be a pretty big week, next week."

As for Bulldogs potentially moving, Josh Hill, Andrejs Everitt and Brennan Stack have all been among those mentioned. Although Fantasia said his club had fielded inquiries about more than a few of Rodney Eade's men.

"You know we've certainly had some queries about a number of our players and that certainly gives you food for thought," he said.

"Mostly what happens is ... you have a look at each list and those guys that you rate that are probably on the cusp, on the fringe there, they're the ones that tend to get asked a lot about.

"We've had a number of players that have been in and out of the side this year and they've certainly generated interest."

Well that's all very interesting James, especially if we take you at your word. The only players who've been in and out (ie dropped or not picked when match fit) were:

Hahn (19 games) - I doubt he'd generate interest at his age
Minson (15 games)
Addison (13 games)
Moles (13 games)
Everitt (12 games)
Hill (12 games)
Wood (11 games) - but once he came in he was a "keeper"
Stack (8 games)
Roughead (8 games) - Fantasia would want shooting if he put Roughie up
Jones (5 games) - see above, wouldn't be a candidate for a trade
Callan (1 game) - TCD suggested he's retired but could be a candidate
Reid (1 game) - would be a regular if not injured in 2010

So that means apart from the usual suspects (Everitt, Hill, Stack) there must have been enquiries for at least a couple of Minson, Addison and Moles. Moles is highly unlikely since we've only just traded him in last year and he's an outside runner and has a bit of pace which we so badly need.

There's a separate thread going on Minson and it's no surprise there would be a few nibbles, but what about Addison?

He's had his detractors on this board over the years and many have called for him to be traded away in the past but he has won over a few more supporters (even Fred Cook!) with some of his recent efforts.

I'd like to keep him for his work ethic and attitude but he's not a matchwinner so he's not indispensable. He's the sort of guy that if he was put up for trade could prise loose a reasonable draft pick or player and would certainly attract interest from those who (unlike the WB) are short on in-and-under types.
