Steve Lavell: The AFL has confirmed the father-son selections: Port Adelaide nominated pick 16 for Mitch Wallis, and the Sydney Swans nominated 39 for Tom Liberatore. Therefore the Bulldogs will use picks 22 and 40 for those boys in next month's NAB AFL Draft.

He still has a year to go on his contract.

They signed him last year on a 2 year deal to prevent the specific situation that you describe. If he is under contract, the club has the upper hand in negotiation as the player cannot go into the national draft or PSD.

I'd be for that. He has decent skills, a long kick and moves very well.

I'd say doubtful, he is a lot like Everitt in that he is a versatile player but master of no position, what would be the point in trading out Everitt and bringing in Goldsack.

why 27 to 29, it is a pick at the end of the first round and has a 5 year life, why would you use it now?

With everything being talked about i wonder if any of this(see below) will come true as they are the rumors i am hearing.

Walker for Everitt(carlton have said this isnt enough)
Sherman for Harbrow compensation
Hill for 3rd rounder to one of Hawks/Eagles/Unknown
Stack to eagles, Djerrkura to Us and West coast and Cats swap 4th Rounders

So we may end up with

IN

Sherman/Walker/2 x 3rd round picks/4th round pick

Out

Everitt/Hill/Stack/Late first round pick

Thats alot of trading maybe too much considering we will have Wallis/Libba/Howard/Tutt to possibly debut next year.

Smacks alot of Brisbane last year without the Fev trade.


Thoughts?
