Harbrow's compensation pick is 29 according to the article on the AFL website.

It's good that Sydney, Richmond and Melbourne have shown interest. It's a better feeling to land a player who other clubs are after (it also makes you more confident that you've targeted the right player if other teams also have ambitions to acquire them).

If we are after Walker and Carlton are keen on Everitt, I can see the following trade taking place.

In order for those two to swap teams, the Bulldogs will give Carlton pick 57 in return for Carlton's pick 69.

If we land Sherman, do we think he'll be a replacement for Harbrow or Eagleton, it'd be handy having a faster wingman than Eagleton who is still able to bomb goals for 55+ given accuracy might not be as good. Possibly has a better defensive upside than Eag's also? A penny for your thoughts?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go to the Brisbane board, gather their thoughts on sherman and summarise them back here.

I keep thinking Everitt can take the Eagle's role after his retirement. Too bad he wants out. I guess Sherman would fit in that role if we get him. But for some reason I feel he's a real chance to turn into a bad trade for us (dont know why just a weird feeling).

The Brisbane effect?

Aker, Pask, Baird, Bartlett, Picken, Rusca...

With everything being talked about i wonder if any of this(see below) will come true as they are the rumors i am hearing.

Walker for Everitt(carlton have said this isnt enough)
Sherman for Harbrow compensation
Hill for 3rd rounder to one of Hawks/Eagles/Unknown
Stack to eagles, Djerrkura to Us and West coast and Cats swap 4th Rounders

So we may end up with

IN

Sherman/Walker/2 x 3rd round picks/4th round pick

Out

Everitt/Hill/Stack/Late first round pick

Thats alot of trading maybe too much considering we will have Wallis/Libba/Howard/Tutt to possibly debut next year.

Smacks alot of Brisbane last year without the Fev trade.

Thoughts?

Only difference being Brissy didn't pick up two gems like Wallis and Liberatore last year.

There's a difference between picking up Walker and Sherman and the likes of Xavier Clarke and Fevola.

why 27 to 29, it is a pick at the end of the first round and has a 5 year life, why would you use it now?

and how does one "to some research"? and what is "thay"?

Forget I spoke.

The point remains if you are going to write someones name show some respect to that person and spell it correctly.

Seems we may have to top the swans pick 21 if we are interested in Sherman, though his preferencing us as his desired destination may help...we could also be generous in a deal for Veszpremi if this could help our cause...

Sydney are battling for Sherman's services...

Dogs might miss out if they push hard and get stuck with Vreswhateverhisnameis

If we have to top that then Sydney can have him as he simply isn't worth it, Compo pick is all we should and will offer for Sherman.

From afl website: "Player manager Ricky Nixon says David Hale, Andrejs Everitt and Richard Tambling should all find new clubs as soon as tomorrow"

Guys without wanting to sound smart there has been some speculation (probably based on nothing) on our board that Ward may be part of a trade for Djerrkura - obviously with draft picks changing hands. I don't believe it for a second but have any of you heard anything here?

Snowball's chance in hell.

Unlikely about Ward changing clubs. He's touted as a future leader at the club so we're unlikely to ever let him go.

Might be if it includes Joel Selwood and a pick somewhere:D

Would you guys trade Selwood for Stack?

Thats how this proposition sounds to us.

Everitt to the Swans for Veszpremi is looking close to a done deal. Adelaide & the tigers closing in on a a deal for Tambling #Tradeweek

Terrible call if true. Everitt might not have shown much this season, but for VESZPREMI who has done NOTHING?! Jesus... Sydney will turn Andrejs into a star in 2011

That's what I thought but then again I thought this time last year that Gary would be a one team player too!!

Cheers.

With all due respect...Ablett wanted out. Ward doesn't and we wouldn't let him go. I wouldn't trade Ward for anyone. He reminds me in some ways of Chris Grant....a Bulldog Hero. :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

PS Your ex-coach is a hypocrite. Bagging Ablett for thinking of leaving and then does the same himself. I hope he fails dismally when he returns back to Essendon...there would be some justice to that. Good luck to Ablett at the Gold Coast....he'll need it.
