Only if initiated by Lindsay. Fabric of the club could be damaged IMO.
Will he be in our best 22 next year? Or will Howard step up and take his role?

Seems a bit ruthless though. Great servant of the club and popular guy (on appearances anyway).

Plus, didn't he win Cleo bachelor of the year or something? A marketers dream!

Of course he will be in our best 22 next year! Was one of the top rebounding defenders again in 2010. Howard still a mile off being in the team, let alone an elite player like Gilbee.

Reid is hard at it, but he is injury prone and has health issues. I don't know just throwing it out there.

It was funny when he won an award at the Best and Fairest and he was in the toilet. He returned to inform the audience he was giving himself his diabetic injections.

I sadly agree he has the talent but his health concerns are too much for us to carry.

I doubt we'll get Walker but as already noted we may be getting pick 44 from the GC and possibly a higher pick for Hill from Hawthorn which could be used if we are really that keen. Surely if the Sherman deal falls through we'll make a hard play for Walker though?

there has been rumours your mob are into McKinley

Proposed a trade on our board which was McKinley and 28 for your compensation pick

The benefit for you guys is that it's only a 1 pick downgrade - and you get a mature player.

The benefit for us is that given our ladder position - we can afford to be a bit more long term focussed and wait a few years before we use it.

Given the trade history between the clubs - finding win/wins seems to happen.

thoughts?

They are just rumors, it won't happen. We don't need him and really he doesn't help us to much. He would just be another depth player which we seem to be trying to shed in trade week.

I think we'll virtually give you Stack for free by the end of the trade period but apart from that I can't see us making any deals this week.

That seems like not a bad deal really :)

I think the club will be focused on bringing Sherman in either Thursday or Friday though, and once that deal is sealed, maybe focus on other moves after that.

Sherman is the best available replacement we can get for Harbrow, so I guess it is a fair priority, and I wouldn't think we would want to potentially compromise the deal by bringing McKinley in first.

Why I say compromise, is because I am quite sure the deal to bring Sherman in will involve the compo pick as that would make sense for both teams...

What might happen would be Stack for McKinley.

Think you're over rating Gilbees 2010 IMO.

Agree he's still in our 22. Think he's on a decline now though

Strange comment Xie.

Far worse cases than Reids. (Eg. Ramma)

If we can't handle the fact that Reid is a diabetic, we deserve a swift kick. Christ.

Misunderstanding there. I don't mean it is too much for us to handle. What I intended was carrying a player on the list who is constantly out with health problems isn't worth keeping on the list these days. IF he is the type of player who is only going to be available five times per year due to his health problems (not saying this will be the case, just an observation), then carrying him on the list will be create more harm than good.

Sam Reid missed those games due to INJURY, NOT because of his health associated with Diabetes. Good to see someone has been paying attention to the injury list this year. It's very harsh to say he should be traded simply because of that. Almost like judging someone for their color. It is actually a very manageable condition, also shows how some people know so little about it. Actually made me pretty angry seeing a close mate has this condition

I dont see how people could notsee Reids value. He is big bodied, tall for a midfielder, and very hard at it. Even more skillful than half of our team seem to be at times. I thought he looked better a step ahead of Higgins and Ward in his games this, even though they are more classier and skillful, plus were battling injuries. Reid's hard at it approach, and big body is what we'll need in 5 years when Cross and Boyd are gone

We just got Vezpremi, so we dont need McKinley. Would be a list clogger.

all deals hinge on Sherman.

If we get him then we can shut up shop for the trade period.

But we need an answer either way from Brisbane quickly or else we'll miss out on possibly trading for Walker.

I don't think Sherman will be the end of our trading from all reports.

I don't think we have a chance of getting Walker. Carlton want too much and have said they would like an established player. Unless we can somehow work out 3 way deal we won't get him.

McKinley for Stack.

Setanta only if we lose Will and delist Markovic and only in PSD or for a throwaway draft pick.

Sherman is not a Harbrow replacement. Wood is groomed for that and then maybe Tutt/Howard. Sherman is an outside mid/linebreaking goalkicker per Aker.

That utube vid of Ves showed him reading off Barry for crumbs so that is obvious. He also has class imo.

Hope we get Faulks via that Will deal if indeed it is even possible(and I assume it is.)

DJ from Cats surely will also be a late done deal but stranger things have happened.

Do not want to waste time on Hawks with Hill. Demand something good and if we get no joy then walk away. Keeping hill is still a good position imo.

They want a pick 10-20 for him, all I can say to that is good luck. Other than GC, don't see many teams with the luxury of being able to trade their first pick. If they don't want our Harbrow pick- we should tell them no deal.

Lions also seem to be under the illusion that Sherman wants to go to Sydney. Surely the Harbrow pick is better than getting a player who does not want to play for them?

No, I've had him in my supercoach team the last 4 years and have thus tracked him closely. This year he performed better than last year, and remained in the top bracket of rebounding defenders.
