Like the sound of this Norwood guy. Looks at the Milnes and Davis's of the AFL and says to himself "I can take those guys". And seems to do it by being first to the ball and backing himself rather than being reactive to his opponent which is a sure way to let those types of forwards make you look silly.

LOL... here we go.

7 clubs have enquired about Paul to Norwood, Paul has been in regular talks with the Doggies and when Jarrad Harbrow left he had another phone call almost assuring him a spot on the list. Norwood did not off him a contract for 2011 they are that convinced he is getting picked up. So if he is not at the dogs, he will be at, Hawthorn, Port, Essendon, Fremantle, St. Kilda or Gold Coast.

So combine or not, he will be selected in either the draft or the rookie draft this year!

If he is that good, how come he is hardly ever named in the best?

Seems to be a lot of rumours circulating around Walker and Sherman, nothing of which is concrete. It makes for an interesting trade week though. There's some decent options available.

I wouldn't jump at Everitt and a draft pick for Walker though. He's injury prone, isn't the smartest footballer going around and his disposal is hit and miss. I'd like to see him in the Tricolour, but I'd only do a straight swap.

I didn't see a whole heap of the bulldogs games this year but was wondering is grant a possibility to go into the ruck for small bursts, he seems to be pretty big and very good around the ground?

Heard the exact same thing. Hope it isn't true. With our outgoings at the end of this year, I think Everitt has a spot in our team.

I will be very disappointed if Everitt leaves. He will burn us if we let him go.

As a side point, surely with the number 3, a two year contract and him doing "media work" for the club (kennelz show), he wouldn't be traded......I hope....

Everitt I say is a must keep with the outgoings this year. The Dogs need to give him another pre-season AND more importantly Dogs please do your due diligence on Walkers shoulders should you be looking at him.

To trade all three Hill, Stack and Everitt to me seems a bad decision. They are at the right age for the club to reap rewards for the time and development we have put into them. One or two of them you may look at but all three who are a similar age would be an issue in my opinion.

I believe Walkers shoulders are good now.

Whilst I tend to agree about Everitt, this season there was plenty of opportunities to play him and we couldn't find a spot for him.
If he isn't part of the coaches plans I think we should look to trade him rather than just playing him 6 to 8 games in a season.

If Hill and Stack want to head back to WA then we should look at that as well.
Hill could be a very good player so we would want a decent deal for him.

If they want to go home that puts Freemantle and West Coast in the box seat. Just because we think they could be good players doesn't reflect their true value. Stack would at very best a fourth round pick and Hill would be lucky to get a third round pick for or a fringe player.

A late 2nd round pick might not be out of the question for Hill, its a compromised draft so those picks are a bit further back than normal.

Other options may include using these players to upgrade a pick, say from our 3rd and 4th round picks to West Coasts earlier picks in those rounds. Or if we can find nothing of value together in a trade, at a long shot we could involve a 3rd club in a 3 way trade if another specific player is being targeted.

Yeah anything is possible. But with both players wanting to go home rather than West Coast or Freeo chasing them it gives them the upper hand. I'm not sure I'd trade Hill for a second round pick.

I think you are underestimating Hill's value and whilst the WA teams are in the box seat, the Eagles might have to try an accommodate a couple of Victorian boys wanting to come home.

It might not be a draft pick exchange but a player for player trade.

Possibly a fringe player for fringe player deal but West Coast would be crazy to risk a second round pick. You can get quality players with second round picks. And Hill can't get a game here.

Will be an interesting scenario with Walker.

His shoulders are fine, the reco and muscle tightening he had pre season made them near impossible to pull out...

Carlton were into Everitt in a big way last season, but the dogs refused to trade, and gave Everitt the indication that he would get more game time in 2010. That as we know has not occured.

Walker wants out, but is contracted. It seems the Crows and you are both interested.

Personally, I would be all for a trade of Walker>Everitt. I dont really believe picks would be involved in this. More of a straight swap of players.

May be a good solution for you as you have lost Harbrow and look like loosing Hill. Walker will add a bit more pace back into your lineup that will be very different from 2010.

Considering you have to take out;

Harbrow, Johnson, Aker, Eagleton and potentially Hill and Hahn.

Good post, agree with this.

I don't want to lose Everitt but it's pretty obvious he's not in Eade's plans so there's no point wasting his time and more importantly, ours. Walker certainly gives us flexibility to play back/mid/forward which Eade likes in players and as you said, injects some much needed pace.

Will be interesting to see if the clubs/players agree to a deal, or if somebody holds out so to speak.

All in all, it does seem a fair trade.

my only concern with walker is that he is injury prone

why does he want out of carlton?

He had two shoulder reco's in 7-8 years.

The second of which included muscle tightening as said in previous post. They are no longer an issue.

He was unlucky on returning in the pre season when he landed badly and broke a colar bone....Could have happened to any player.

Has not lived up to Rattens ezpectations and was not pleased with being dropped a couple of times this year due to inconsistant performances.

Has asked for a trade, which Carlton are happy to look at even though he is under contract. His manager however has also come out and said that if a trade cannot be done that suits Carlton and Walker, that he and the Blues will be fine to continue into 2011.

I genuinly believe that Ratten and Swann will trade him and in evry likley hood to the Bulldogs. Adelaide really dont have a heap that Carlton would want, and what we would like I am guessing would be off limits.

Everitt offers Carlton with some more size and pace off HB and he will be given game time in our young defence. As said again in previous post, we were into him in a very large way last year, but you would not accept a second round pick for him.

I dare say he has probably lost a little value since then, but a direct swap for Walker would be a fair and reasonable end result for both teams.

I'm sorry, but I don't agree. Walker is a proven AFL-level 100 gamer with elite pace and endurance. And he's only 24. We should not be letting him go cheap for a player like Everitt who is talented, but still speculative.

And where exactly are we going to play Everitt? We have enough 3rd talls down back. Is there any chance he could make it as a forward?

I do agree that Walker is a great fit for the Dogs with the departure of Harbrow and more opportunities in the middle, I'm just not so sure what we can do with Everitt.

Walker + 3rd Rounder for Everitt + 2nd Rounder?

Yep...

Dogs will not be trading either of their first 2 round draft picks as they need them to secure Wallis and Libba in the draft.

Thank you Captain Obvious.

What will happen is that Everitt, Hill and Stack will be put on the table and that's how we will secure the picks/players we need/want.

Nice posts PooMonkey:thumbsu:.

Have heard we are in with a huge shot to get Walks, but there are another couple of clubs interested and whoever offers the best deal will end up with him. He's not to fussed where he ends up as long as it's not the Blues.
