I've got a fairly strong team and an easy opponent this week, and I'm sure I could use the cash further down the line, but at the same time it's always nice to work your way a bit back up the rankings. If Dal Santo has another flat week he'll be no better than Shaw, but if he doesn't fire against Essendon's miniature midfield you have to wonder when he will.

Double trade to get Chad

Bird/ houli to woonameri

then N Jones for Chad

Worth doing and if so Bird or Houli

Tricky one that- both Bird and Houli are still going up in value, but if us idiots on the captain choice thread are right, so will the Chad, which might make the trade harder next week. What about Jones to Wonaeamirri and sit on the cash until next week? Chances are that one of those three young'ns will score as much as Jones will, and will make you some money into the bargain.

Of course you then miss out on whatever his Chadliness scores this week.

If i had to choose I'd be losing Bird- he has to play against the Cats this week, which puts decent scores at risk, whereas Houli will have a lot more to do with the Dons depleted ranks (despite playing against the mighty Saints...:D)

need some advice.

i have schammer in my midfield but it's time for him to go. I;ve looked at straight swap and theres really nothing around.

I was thinking of trading Stokes for Josh Hill. Then using the extra cash for a premium midfielder. Thoughts?

The trade of Matthew Stokes to Hill + Schammers price would give you around 450k. So it really depends how much money is in your kitty, 450k midfielder is alright, but won't be a gun!
If you bring in Hill, I assume you consider him to be a keeper. The might be a big assumption, I agree he has played impressive... but keepers are for the whole season...
Did you consider picking a 'fresh' cc in the likes of McKinley or Reimers... this will free up more dough and you can get a real gun in your midfield.

Or don't waste two trades on Schammer, just wait another week or two (his price will remain stable) and see how Armitage goes, I expect him to hold his place and get decent scores!

Am in desperate need of some advice, have pretty much decided on some trades, just need some of you learned folk to say yay or nay.

I have $232k in the bank, am desperate to get Kornes into my line-up but am $20k short of a Coughlan-Kornes straight swap. Need to cash in a rookie to make up the shortfall, so am thinking Tippett for McKinley (edit: or maybe Reimers?). Other option is L Hansen for Wona. For some context here is my team ATM (have used 2 trades)...

BACKS:
C Cornes (C)
Shaw
Gilbee
Newman
Gram
Birchall
Pfeiffer

Proud (E)
Hansen (E)

MIDS:
Gablett (VC)
Dal Santo
J Selwood
Stevens
Houli
Palmer

Bird (E)
Coughlan (E)

RUCKS:
Cox
Simmonds

Hampson (E)
Renouf (E)

FORWARDS:
J Brown
Riewoldt
Pavlich
Bradshaw
N Thompson
Rioli
Hill

Gamble (E)
Tippett (E)

*As you can see, my backs are OK, my mids are probably short one gun, and my forward line probably also short one gun. Am thinking will fix my forwards up next week (maybe take a punt on BJ), but am super-keen to get Kornes in whilst the price is right.

Thoughts...please??

Hansen to Woenamerri versus Tippet to Mckinley/Reimers, Hansen to Woenamerri wins hands down.

Couglan to Kornes is a winner.

:thumbsu:

OK, late development. Have just realized Hansen to Wona still leaves me a painful $2k short of being able to upgrade Coughlan to Kornes.:thumbsd:

Which rookie should i downgrade to Wona (or McKinley if a forward)? Bearing in mind I need to free up exactly $20k.

hey guys do you think its better to trade hall for a player like nathan thompson in order to get chad cornes or its a better thing to trade hall for bradshaw to get joel mc for johnson???

Only options Gamble, Tippet or Pfeifer (who might not play)
Or be patient, K Cornes might drop 2k or more.... if he scores 116 he will drop exactly 2k, anything higher doesn't work.

I did one this week.

OUT: Grundy
IN: Bradshaw

(Grundy was my 7th/8th backman, gained $70,000 to 210,000.... enough for me.)

I bit the bullet and finally did Hurn for Wonaeamirri, purely for the extra moolah. Now got $300K in the kitty, and hopefully Wona will score around the same as Hurn at more than a 3rd of the price. :thumbsu:

Almost cow cashin' time. :D

I did
Hall -> McKinley
SD Thompson -> Woowerri
Hopefully next week I'll be able to make the unique decision of bringing Kornes in ;)

Out: Brad Johnson, Trav Tuck.
In: McKinley, Bartel
finally, i got the holy grail of players and my favourite player in Jimmy Bartel. the only reason i didn't have him from the start of this season was because i didn't think he could keep up the form and chose Ablett instead, but Jimmy has been great. i'm glad i finally have him.
