Trades: Round 9

I'd been thinking I would do SD Thompson to Myers, just so I didn't have to cop a zero, but decided that would probably be too sideways considering the amount of trades I have left.

Now I'm trying to decide between dropping Kennelly or Symes for Myers this week, so that I will be able to trade him, SD Thompson or Wona for the Chad in the next week or so. I just can't decide which to drop! Kennelly has burnt me in the past with his injuries, but I think, minus injuries, he is a far more consistant scorer. I'm also not sure whether Symes will immediately resume after being unable to run for so long.

I'm leaning toward trading out Symes, because I think he will be out for at least another 3, and won't slot straight back into scoring those high scores - especially considering all the blokes that were injured and gave him more time on the ball are back.

If Kennelly does break down again, I'll be seriously bloody peeved as he'll have ruined two seasons in a row for me, but I can still trade him up for King, Johncock, etc.

Well, this post was more about me convincing myself what to do than asking for advice, but any please share any opinions..!

Can someone please advise re the following:

Trades: 13
Bank: $10,700

1. Bird ---> Wellingham.... Bank: $121,700 (this trade is a definate. Bird is 8th mid ATM)

But then cannot decide which of the following to do as my 2nd trade this weeK:

(a) Cloke --> Chappy (bank: $36,700)
(b) Rioli ---> Chappy (bank: $4,100)
(c) Cloke --> B. Johnson (bank: $83,400)
(d) Rioli --> B. Johnson (bank $50,800)

A, b, c, or d, bearing in mind that next week I want to get my hands on an elite midfielder, probably in place of Boak.

Next week:

(a) Armitage ---> Cotchin ....pocket max of $80,000
(b) Palmer ----> Cotchin ....pocket max of $175,000

I really should keep Palmer as my 6th mid, but if I trade Armitage for Cotchin, I will only have $80,000, which means to get Bartel/Corey, I would have to do trade (c) this week... Cloke ---> Johnson, which is probably the least desirable of the lot...

Thoughts?

what are peoples thoughts on osbourne and birchall. i have guerra and keen to get rid of him. havent seen much of hawthorn play so dont know if i can trust osbourne. why the hell is he scoring so well?

Ended up going:

Out: Houli, Rioli
In: Myers, Chapman

Ended up going with Myers over Cotchin... I can't see him being dropped from here on in and his bigger body should hopefully mean he's a tad more durable... Score differences between the two should only be nominal.

Just did my trades for the week

In: Chapman, Valenti
Out: Cloke, Rioli

Left with $196k and forward line of...

Pavlich, Didak, Brown, Deledio, Porplyzia, Chapman, Gamble (Tippet, Valenti)

Final change to my forwardline will be in the next week or 2 or 3, upgrading Gamble to a forward gun... possibly Riewoldt, as he'll probably get to about 320-340k. Will keep emergencies for the year.

Thoughts?

traded cloke out for chappy too. even though i have vince and rioli starting. they're much better than cloke imo. in any case vince ---> riewoldt in 2-3 weeks will be a near straight swap.

I have structured out a plan which consists of the next 2 weeks, and using 3 trades:thumbsu:

They include

Next Week: Out Gamble, In Valenti
Out Tippet, In Riewoldt/Chapman

Week After: Out Rioli, In Riewoldt/Chapman

If i do this my forward line will be: Franklin, Pavlich, B.Johnson, S.Johnson, J.Brown, Riewoldt, Chapman

Should i go ahead with these trades:confused:

I think they are good trades and and will really strengthen your forward line in my opinion. Would probably go with chpaman over riewoldt though at this stage.

GUYS

I am looking at trading out Symes for either Nathan Bock or Jordan Mcmahon or Michael Osbourne or Darren Milburn Thoughts?

If i get Darren Milburn or Osbourne that means i can also tarde Cyril Rioli for Either Paul Chapman or Daniel Giansiracusa

Thoughts?

Very similar to me...

In: Riewoldt, Chapman, Valenti
Out: Rioli, Gamble, Cloke

Keeping Tippet as my 8th forward.

Im a Thinking
Brad Symes>>Michale Osbourne
Cyril Rioli>> Paul Chapman

For me:

Dyson > Kennedy = 150K - may only play a few but have 7 good mids already and Palmer to ? in a few weeks.

Was tempted to trade Hill > BJ/ROK but with Volt back using Hill as emerg, Tippet = 7th forward

Will use the cash to trade Mattner to Cornes next week.

Still a few weeks left in Rioli, Ibbotson and Palmer.

As a Bulldogs supporter I'd take Chappy over BJ. He's struggling with something and I don't think it's going to heal over night. I've got him, and i'll stick with him but if I didn't have him i'd be aiming for different premiums.

Agreed. And Claude you said you're looking to get Bartle/Corey in? Dont move heaven and earth to do it. There are other premium centres such as Montagna that will be dirt cheap soon. Get on of them instead, and keep Palmer.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Butane, would you say I need to get rid of Cloke for Chappy, or just cop him as hopefully my 7th forward (he may come good), and take this opportunity to upgrade one of my first year forwards in Rioli? The way Cloke's travelling, I wouldn't mind betting Rioli outscores him for the year...

Banana_bus, I think I agree with what you say, though it's just so hard not to get carried away with those two, especially when you're a Geelong supporter!

Ok in need some opinions so hopefully some can contribute to this.

I have a very weak midfield that needs upgrading but i can't do it this week. I have two options this week.

I had planned to get Chapman this week using only 1 trade but fell 7k short.

1. Symes to S. Fisher then Rioli to Chapman.
Pros
- Forward line is done
- will not get a 0 this week
Cons
- Virtually nothing left in the bank
- Two trades used to make no money. Going to need to pull a rabbit to upgrade to 2 premium mids in the future.

2. Schammer to Wellingham then Rioli to Chapman
Pros
- Forward line is done
- Have about 160k left to upgrade either Bird, Browne, Houli, Palmer

Cons
- Will cop another 0 in the backline
- Is Wellingham likely to play rest of the season? Leaving that last midfield position vulnerable.

Option 1 no doubt. it doesnt matter if you didnt make any money with 2 trades. thats the idea of having money so you can upgrade players.

Cheers, i forgot to mention that i will be down to 10 trades. I like to sit on 6 for LTI's which means getting two Premium mids with using only 4 trades with nothing left in the bank will be extremely difficult.

Option one is very tempting given i will have no 0's and a strong forward line and backline. The midfield is horrible.
