This is a very interesting time of year.

Post trades you've heard, trades you want to see, or just fantasy trades that couldnt possibly happen!

I'll start the ball rolling, since the club has decided to get rid of Torney, how bout a straight swap for Kane Johnson, or Brent Guerra and a draft pick!

C'mon lets have some fun with this!

I like the sound of the Brent Guerra do but i'm not sure if they need another player like Torney in their defence.

I have heard that Travis Johnstone is out of contract with Melbourne. He would be a great pick up for us.

We could then have a midfeild of:

Rodan
Coughlan
Zantuck
Johnstone

All young and can grow into a very strong midfeild.

OK I really don't like doing this too often because 99% of what you read is bogus but my mail is that TIVENDALE is sought by the magpies and has been for some time. I also have it on reasonably good authority that the tiges are having a very big look at Luke PENNY as a swap for VARDY.

Luke Penny? I doubt he could do the job for us.

Travis Johnstone would be an awesome pick up but as kretchy said, we would have a hell of a lot of trouble fitting him into the cap!

id take penny for vardy no worries at all. but i doubt very much the doggies would come to the party on that one.

tivendale has been spoken too by danny as up for a possible trade for which tivendale is ok with. his named has been linked to the doggies for robbins.
maybe tivendale for penny might suit us more to strengthen our back up talls in the backline.

ray hall has been mentioned also i guess the penny thing might have something to do with that maybe.

all ican say is tigers do a deal with port to get guierra.

cheers!

I don't rate Penny at all,the only reason he sometimes gets a game at the Doggies is due to their lack of height in defence.

Having said that, I'd take a can of coke & a Mars bar for Vardy.

Seth.

Yes I have heard Tivendale has been told he will most likely be traded and he understands and there is no hard feelings....

What can we get for a player like Tivvers?

I would do handstands whilst naked if we could swap Vardy for Penny, heck id do it if we can get 1/2 a bag of potatoe chips for him!

Torney has said he wants to go home now so either Port Adelaide or Adelaide will have a go, I think he would be tremendously important for either team! I like Guerra and think it would be a fair trade in the end.

Ray Hall should not be traded, not at any price, this kid will be valuable.

What would we get if Tivendale to Collingwood....

Depends on how Stupid they are!

I would really like to make a play on Alan Didak. But if I was Collingwood, I wouldn't trade him for Tivendale!

In reality, I would think we could get someone like Heath Scotland who is a hard inside midfielder with excellent skills for Tivendale. Scotland seems to struggle to get game time and a few of my Collingwood friends cannot seem to work out why. When he does get a chance, he always seems to do well.

Funnier things have happened but I would suggest that the Bulldogs would be completely stupid to entertain this trade. As has been mentioned, Penny will stand up at CHB for the next 10 years - Vardy on the other hand really isn't up to the mark.

I could see a Penny trade happening for a midrange midfield running player like Tivendale or even Rogers.

Scotland is a brave hard ball getter with good disposal on both sides, and his concentration is improving. Not a champ but he does his job well.

We have a wealth of inside ball getters at the moment, with Buckley, Burns and OBree ahead of him and McGough and Cole in the mix, so the guy may be gettable for you.

My own feeling is he is on the outer with Malthouse because of team rules. I have seen Scotland grab the ball off Buckley and Burns in packs, instead of shepherding. Its great he has such desire for the ball, but Malthouse is a stickler for team rules and teamwork.

I'd hate to see Scotland go, as he is worth his place now and will improve. As he is not a "big name" his price wouldn't be excessive, and he might be lured by the prospect of starting on the field in the centre square instead of on the bench.

We need a ruckman and a key defender but you don't seem to have those spare at the moment.

I am impressed with Scotland.

Two good feet, a dash of pace, and good ability overhead.

What would you require?

let me free!

Tivendale for Scotland / Betheras. Collingwood do seem interested in another class midfielder, and either of these blokes could do well in your team. Don't let Tivendale go too cheaply, though, as he is quite good.

Plunkett and Doering from Carlton For Ray Hall? The blues need a tall, and you'd get an in-and-under midfielder and a rebounding half-back (to replace Cameron). If not Hall, possibly Andrew Kellaway?

Pass!
Doubt there's anyone at Carlton I'd swap for Hall.
No-one Carlton would part with anyway.
Doering only got a game due to injuries,we've got enough guys who star in the VFL then can't make the jump.

I'd do that trade but I doubt Richmond would be interested. I'm a bit of a Doering fan though I don't see a future for Plunkett. Ray Hall could use a bit of meat on him but he could be a good player.

I think the only way Luke Penny will end up at Richmond is if we trade him for Richo.
It aint gonna happen! He has great potential and i'm sure everyone at the club who knows their s**t wouldn't even entertain a swap for VARDY.
All the same i'd be very interested in Hall and there have been strong talks of a possible trade including Matty Robbins and a few other names tossed up(not of a high profile), any thoughts tigers fans?

Scotland isn't quick, however is a ball magnet with terrific skills. Best current player to compare with is Joe Misiti (not claiming he is as good).

From a Pies perspective I like the thought of Tivendale as we need quick skilled outside players. However Tivendale does seem to go missing for long periods.

How do tiger supporters rate Tivendale ?

Highly...he doesnt go missing so much as he is guilty of missing easy shots on goal...you might be thinking of Joel bowden. Tivvers will one day run amok for a season and really get amongst the votes. My favourite side of his game is his kicking out from goal..he's pin-point precise and over a long distance.

I'd trade him purely because we have Fiora and Bowdo...(i'd rather trade Bowdo though...)but...i'd like a quality player or a high 2nd round pick.

Scotland sounds good..one collingwood player who caught my eye is Johnson...a backman...the kid wants the footy alright ...price check ?

Surely not Johnson, R18 ... he's a gimp. I have vivid images of my Collingwood buddies, when Ben Johnson gets the ball, digging their own nails into their scalps in fits of frustration that I haven't seen them display since Stephen Patterson and Matthew Francis donned the Barcode ....

As for Ray Hall - you don't often see the guy named Clubman Of The Year (a subjective award, by the way!!) and then traded 3 weeks later. Like I've said before, The whole McKee thing must be hurting a few around the club by now ... I don't think we'll fall for the same thing with a player of a similar ilk, namely Razor.

Tivvers is worth a lot. Quick, young and beautiful disposal. Of course we need in and under types, but not at the expense of our more polished players.

I think Hall won the coaches award and not the best clubman award that went to Hilton. Winning the coaches award is probably also going to make him less likely to be traded anyway.

Penny is one of those guys who has had really bad luck with injuries every year and missed great swathes of footy.

But he has played some nice games early in the year, and showed a fair bit. Barring further injury you will hear a lot more about him in 03.

Just becaue you traded for Huddo last year doesnt mean we owe you a ridiculous trade in return you know!
