Trading Ablett

I know for some, like me, trades have been done and cannot be reversed. But just want to get a feeling of how many people held on and how many people moved on Ablett.

I got rid of him myself, I need points, and dont have the luxury of being able to hold 728K on the bench.

I will be able to bring him back in when he is ready, but i'm banking on him misses at least 2 weeks, otherwise i've made the wrong choice. The trades may cost me in the long run, but lets be honest I havent had the strongest start, so I needed to take a gamble.

I'm 5000 overall, so no point me trading him, the race for the 50k is over already.

Traded him for pendles. Got enough spare $$$ so I can swap him for Barlow or if he is out for long enough I could trade him for a 2 cash cows and a get in another rookie.

Ablett is a keeper, an ultimate premium, suffering no LTI and the season is 5 weeks old, so nope. But please continue burning those trades

Traded him in for Murphy. I couldn't afford to - both literally and figuratively - to have him on the bench.

Right now I only have ~$106,000 in the bank and Magner is my highest priced non-premium. I might have to play eeny meeny miny mo with my premiums to see who has to be castout for Ablett when he returns.

Kept Ablett for this week so I can re-access for next week.

If it turns out to be only a 1-2 week injury then I'll keep him but any more and I might trade him out.

Will wait for an injury update on Ablett next week before deciding what to do next.

Its the smartest thing to do IMO.

stressing out (see other thread) over nothing. assuming you took someone good, you have the option, as many will, to upgrade magner or someone else to ablett when he returns....and proves he is back to his best.

i am contemplating such trades for this week.

After Swan VC score I may actually lose points by trading Ablett this week even if that were my original intention. Assuming my onfield rookie scores 80 and my Captain if not Ablett got 130 the premium I bring in would have score more than 130 for me to end up ahead if Stephenson was named for Geelong as everyone would be playing for me. Easy decision to hold this week. Will know more about him afterwards. Would have to miss 5 games at least for me to shoot.

If he were traded to a Treolar ect you could probably have up to 20 premiums in your team by the time he came back and just wait a few weeks to get him again.

That said, I also went Gazza to Pendles - hard to say no when a trade like that bags you 100k. Gazza's BE is now around the 180 mark - I'm hoping to pick him up sub 700k around the bye rounds.

More than happy

Reasoning:

1) I had Ablett form the start and he made me a little cash
2) Got Pendles as cheap as I was likely to
3) S. Selwood, even with teh shit game today, was still almost at BE, therefore will only rise in price coming up making it harder for others to upgrade to him later
4) Pendles and Ablett will have a total score fairly similar come seasons end

As above. Did the same thing. I used the spare cash to do some upgrades on my forward line, but still the same overall effect.

i don't think i seriously considered it, although i did explore the options. with all the carnage regarding injuries and the likes it wouldn't have been worthwhile burning a trade for a 2 week injury for the sake of some extra points.

Easy in hindsight but the way they were talking a week ago was that he could miss three more games. I gained 140 points last week off Pendles who I was always going to get in and may pick up Gary a little cheaper. Yeah a wasted trade but will likely save 100 g on getting Pendles cheap and buying Gary for a little less plus the points for last week. Would not have traded if I knew he was back this week but I did not know that a the time. Like the guy above I am coming 250 so did not want to fall too far behind. Still have 19 trades which should be enough.
