I still feel my Hall>Higgins one is up there with the worst but I know I wasn't the only one who did that!

Yeah I can second that trade. :(

Got a trade reserved for him just in case but geesh, that Gysberts / Barlow and whatever trade was a hopeless trade.

Looks like those that still have him will probably need to trade him out now. A shame for footy!

Hopefully Judd didn't go up too much. Always would have a trade shadowing Barlow.. Oh well, good while it lasted.

LARS an option maybe.. but still a long way back for the kid.. Love the boy and wish him well on his return.

LARS wouldn't be quick enough IMO and I don't know if it's worth the risk. I wouldn't risk it on a freak incident. Rodan had a past, so I think he was willing to take the risk to get a crack at season 2010. Same with Malceski and Fisher IIRC.

Its crap for supercoach
But how bad is that for football? Thats just killed the story of the year, poor bloke really feel for the guy.

And here endeth the debate.

(good luck with the recovery mate. Will see you in 2011)
Like Russea said ruined the story of the year, before this year was third favourite for the Brownlow!

Has been a fantastic player this year got to see him live and was even more impressed. Speedy recovery for this great bloke (oh and I'll save you a place on my list for 2012).

Story of the year? I guess, if you grouped him and Pods, it would be.

Barlow's bad, but how will Fremantle cope? I hope they make top 4. Rhys Palmer was terrific today, so he might be the one who picks up the slack and becomes the driving force.

I'm more then happy to bring Montagna or Judd in for Barlow. Who would of thought we'd be saying this in round 14. And just using 1 trade!

Shattering for the bloke and the Fremantle football club, really do feel for him.

As for trading him, yes. I think we all have to. Who for though? Judd, Selwood, Dal Santo, Bartel? Will have to think long about it. It will leave me with two trades after I trade Riewoldt back in after seeing a few of his games.

Well they're 8 points ahead of their challengers and they've got Richmond, Melbourne, WCE and North coming up. Should win a few of those. Their Round 17 game against the Dogs will be huge.

call me a heartless bastard but............

the debate now begins - who to replace barlow with.

for me its easy - i dont have ablett - i will next week. and the turnover cost is minimal.

thanks for a very memorable season mr barlow - im sure plenty will take great notice of the oldies drafted later this year and inspired by your efforts take them on instead of the kids.

Barlow for Swan. My sideways trade of Bartel to Montagna is now gone. Will get MPP McNeil to give me coverage just incase.

Palmer was the D***head that took out barlows legs. He screws over all of us supercoachs, Hes destroyed arguably Freos best Mid, Killed the story of the year and has stolen cash from hundreds of people who bet on Barlow for the brownlon!

Rhys I hope you realise what you've done

I've been thinking along the same lines the last few minutes, except replace Ablett with Goddard.

Not having Goddard (dont ask...) has killed me this season.

Yes it will take two trades and leave me with only two. But I think if I do something like Webberly (providing he's not named) -> J. O'Brien or some other rookie back thatv looks like getting games, thus giving me bench cover which I don't hae atm, then it could be very worthwhile. As it means I would be able to avoid any donut in defence. Going to be a big decision...

I think he has been story of the year, Pods got more press but Barlow was on track for a top 5 Brownlow finish and in this day and age that is a sensational effort. SC/DT wise he was the story of the year becoming an ultra premium of the likes that have never been seen before.

Pods story only becomes better in my opinion if he gets a grand final medalion at the end of this year.

straight swap
out barlow in judd. judd's price seems to be the cheapest all year. no brainer (for those who don't have him)

What's the best MPP Mid/Fwd or Mid/Def on offer? I could really use the extra midfield coverage..

I've already got Higgins, Harvey, O'Keefe and Pavlich, but only 1 currently resides in the midfield. I've also got Goddard and Hodge in the back half so those are obviously out.

Edit: Chapman and Didak look like the only worthwhile choices. I really don't rate Didak and Chapman's hamstrings + Bomber's tenancy to rest him leading up to finals are ringing alarm bells. Might just go with the best available mid and take my chances. Just bloody hope that Shuey gets a game!

Chappy won't be rested in round 20, because Geelong (and St Kilda) won't have cleared away from the pack to an extent where they can't miss top 2 (as they did last year). But yes, a hammy tear is a risk. Didak is good though you don't rate him.

In terms of mid-def Gilbee is probably the best option.

Oh, Gilbee! He could help, actually.

Probably will still go Judd, but someone to consider.
