Wellers playing in the WAFL I believe at club that has an average list, whilst all the same Grundy is playing in the VFL granted, but Grundy is one of the most promising ruck prospects coming through and could be anything. Dawes is playing solid footy for the Dees and this one is more controversial with the failures of Lynch and White. But Reid when injury free plays the second forward role now and when fit and firing does it a lot better IMO. Furthermore, Broomhead has poise, balance, composure, class and beautiful foot skills.

If they (Grundy and Broomhead) were top ten picks you wouldn't be disappointed. In fact if the draft was redone now and clubs had a second chance I believe they could quite possibly be taken inside the top ten. I believe had we not traded Dawes and Wellers out, the Eagles might have taken Grundy and we would have ended up with Kennedy only, the lesser of the three players we picked up in successive picks IMO. Thoughts?

Makes me sad how far weller has slumped he was a gem, such a talented footballer.
Just not motivated. Wish we had put some more effort in to him he would be very useful right now
Could have been alright up there with the elite of the sport if he had been able to apply himself.
Maybe now west coast don't want him we can bring him back home to the pies. His heart has just not been in it since he left.

His heart was wavering in 2012. One of the problems we had with Wellers was application and attitude. Think he may have been on a strike or two too, he certainly got up to no good with his Buddy, Buddy. He wouldn't have been the difference in 2013 or 2014 and his trade value would have likely diminished.

Looking like potentially good trades at this point. Not sure though about Kennedy being the lesser of the 3. He may just as easily be the best. All 3 still have a fair way to go to establish themselves as AFL footballers so we won't know. For sure for a little while yet

Will be if Broomhead doesn't ship off at the end of the year, which doesn't sound promising unfortunately..

Why what you Heard?

I have heard nothing about him wanting to leave then just Posters on BigFooty

South Australians just doing there thing. They want every South Aussie boy to come home, but most don't.
They tried to prise Didak out of us for years.
I am confident we can keep our players.

I'm fairly confident too, but Optimax (who posted about it) seems to have good mail.

I have no idea why you'd want to go back to Adelaide after living here, it's such a boring joint for a young person.

So Opti was worried there was truth to the rumour?

Has anyone else heard little tiny whispers of a trade back to the Pies?

Would you bring him back in if he came at the expense of a pick in the 30's/40's?

Reckons both BK and Broom are stone walling and might be off to Adelaide and PA respectively.

That would be a blow to depth unless they can arrange a swap. That's if there is any truth to the rumours. Go homes mean the team losing the player is always operating from a position of weakness. Would likely mean we get a 2nd rounder for them which would be a pick around the 25-30 mark.

I reckon it would be a huge blow. You could possibly work them both into a deal for the crows first rounder, which is around 12.

I think KM posed a potential trade of Kennedy for Clurey.

I like Kennedy, but would probably do this deal if we don't get Frawley. Probably a cheaper and more long term option to play the old Ben Reid CHB role.

In relation to the premise of this threat though...I think all 3 of our picks that year are real gems and I hope we keep them.

Broomhead in particular could become the pick of the bunch...although I think Grundy is going to be a great player for us

So Clurey has been good at SANFL level without being able to break into the power team . Would that be a correct summation. Does he look likely to make the grade at AFL level? Does he want to come home?

Not sure about his SANFL form, but he had a big pre-season and broke into the Power line-up in r1 where he looked pretty good.

It's a worry that he hasn't been able to break back in with Carlisle and Trengove injured though. But then again kennedy hasn't been able to break into our starting 21 either despite massive injuries.

As stated above, preference is to keep them...but if Kennedy or Broomhead are on the table it would be a reasonable trade. (If we are not in the market for Frawley)

Wouldn't care too much if we lost Kennedy. Don't want to lose Broomhead however.

Looked him up on the Inside footy /SEN site, they give a half line description of each SANFL game and sounds okay. Like the description of rangy runner and beautiful kick. At 193 and running skills sounds more a 3rd tall in the Goldsack mould.

No Problem with them Checking as I say port be doing the same thing.

I say Collingwood do the same with other club players

I would do that trade but ONLY IF Kennedy asked to be Traded

The wellers trade was definitely a masterstroke but I'm not sure about the dawes trade. We traded out Dawes on the basis of lynch becoming good, which of course didn't happen. So there's now a massive hole in our forward line. Despite broomheads excellent attributes, I still would prefer dawes
