Rusling for Meeson
Win win for both clubs.
The players return home. Strengthen an area of weakness for both clubs from an area were both clubs have strength.

I'd like Hille. the don's won't trade him though. I'd also like Mcintosh from the roos but I don't see them trading him ether. We need a good ruckman for can kick goals to rotate between Frasier and himself in the forward line.

Rusling... we need to keep. He looks like he will be a strong forward.

And why would we want a bloke labelled as the "most courageous player in the league" as a joke by our players, for an emerging ruckman?

Just face it. You are going to have to grow some balls and actually draft a ruckman if you want one. If not, expect to offload a lot for one.

Well we might end up drafting one. I'm not on the Collingwood payrole so I don't know what they would do. I'm asking what WOULD be some good trades?

That's fair enough, and i'm not totally adverse to trading Wood or McDonald.

But you have to remember Leigh Matthews' coached teams usually have 4 ruckmen on the list. We did that throughout our reign at the top, and I doubt things will change now. If we were to look at trading a ruck, Charman and Leuenberger would not be for sale, for obvious reasons. The only way we would trade a top 5 player for us and our number 1 ruck, would be for Riewoldt (with some extra picks going their way).

Wood is a young and emerging ruck with 3+ years of development put into him. We are not going to be trading him for a fringe 22 player like Lonie or Egan. There are numerous clubs who need a young, quality ruck as well - this will inflate his value. We won't let go of Wood unless he wants to return home to SA. And we will not get rid of a first round pick playing the most important position on the ground, for a type of player we could easily find in a 3rd or 4th round.

McDonald looks like the only option from our side of the fence. He has been bunted from the team to accommodate Charman/Wood/Leuenberger, but is still an adequate ruckman. He would step into a couple of teams with poor ruck divisions at ease.

You make some good points. At the moment it's hard to think of a trade for Lonie because we have not seen alot of him this year. Congrats on beating West Coast.

These are ridiculous. Lonie has no value. I think Charman is too much of a risk given injuries, but I've said before we MUST go for Wood given Brisbane's depth at ruck.

We can afford to give up a mid-sized defender and a "potential" player.

Something in the line of Maxwell + Egan/Rusling for Wood is fine by me.
I'd hate to trade Goldsack at this stage, but if that's the deal-breaker I'd do it.

Remember ruckmen are much more rare than other positions so sometimes you have to give up a bit more. Guys like Hale, Hille and Laycock etc are junk, and would just be another step side-ways. We need a guy who has a chance to become a very good ruckman.
 
Must go for Wood!! .. Meesen hasnt done anything and is fourth or fifth in line at Adelaide .. why would we want him ?? Richards has shown more than him .. Wood like Meesen was a high draft pick .. but on exposed form looks like a true ruckman that could become 1st ruck n fraser could become the most damaging player in the competition .. Brisbane and Leigh Matthews have stated all year that they need another forward to take the pressure of Jonathon Brown.. You May Say they have Bradshaw to come back .. but they might want him to settle the backline when he returns .. In any case We have a truck load of young backmen and 1 or 2 too many forwards .. so I think with what Brisbane will be asking I can see Wood At Collingwood because we can afford to offload one or two players ..

what is wrong with wood if he is not injured and behind mcdonald in the pecking order then he is not much and i would pass because mcdonald is not up to it

I have no idea what you are saying, but Wood is not behind McDonald in the pecking order. He will play this week.

He said after the Geelong game that they need another key forward because Brown was being double teamed everyweek, he wished he had one more option and said it would fast-track mitch clarks development a few years .. and thats why all the talk about riewoldt started up .. then Matthews shut it down (not because they didnt want him) because of money (even tho they have Voss' money it is not enough) .. if he could get one quite cheap from collingwood you reckon he wouldnt take one? If you say no then you're the one who doesnt know what you're talkin about

He has Bradshaw to return. Brown, Bradshaw & Fev is too much money spent on the forwardline. It would get in the way of Clarkes development as well. Brisbane are not looking for a premeirship in the next 3-4 years. They are much better off going for a backline player like Harry Obrien who will develop into a very good player when it counts for Brisbane.

Frasier is a great ruck man and is doing great, problem is when he might get injured... Anyway aside from ruckman what other trades could happen next year?

Macdonald is finished, he will follow Keating to the scrap heap unless someone grabs him.

I suggested Brogan because he is one of the best 2nd string ruckmen getting around.
