do you reckon it is possible...and this is a possible....

to get leigh brown over next year? we'd have to trade something big methinks, but from all the wraps (he's only 20) he could become a real doozie as a FB. The only problem is what to give up to get him here?

I mean, we could give them byron since he ain't getting any younger and he hasn't had such a great year, but if we do that we're cutting a hell of a lot of physical presence, experience, media attention and toughness out of our unit...

with the hopeful retirement of micky and delisting of watt...we're going to need someone there, and there is no one physically capable, of holding the players in the opposition teams in our outfit....

i think it'd be a very good long term deal, much like the schwass/grant deal, only different...Kingy may be a possibility too or even shannon grant.....but kingy may be too old and shannon grant has only had the poor year this year....mccartney could be traded too because we have an overabundance or CHB's, and then again tregenza, lange, clayton or cochrane could be thrust in the deal as well...

btw his profile

Leigh Brown

Guernsey Number: 30
Height 193cm
Weight: 101kg
Recruited From: Heyfield/Gippsland U18
Debut: 2000
Date of Birth: 23 February 1982

Has done enough in his two seasons in the AFL, playing 42 of a possible 44 games, to suggest he'll be a star of the future. Spent 2000 mainly as a key defender and was tried in attack last season. His form was consistent, but his conditioning attracted media scrutiny and it was suggested he was carrying excess weight. After a solid pre-season, this tall, strong and agile defender should enjoy further improvement and continue to build a reputation as a key figure. Voted best clubman in 2001.

with the conditions applied to us in order to recieve afl assistance we are no chance of poaching name players.

The names Lange, Clayton, Cochrane and the like are continually thrown up as possible trades, but if they can't get a consistent game after 4 or so years in a team which hasn't been at the top for a couple, what makes you think other teams will snap them up?

We can only hope to pick up rubbish if we give rubbish away.

Tregenza can't be used in any trade as he isn't on our list. If anything, we should probably draft him and give him an opportinity as we did with Digby.

All the talk has been about getting K. Johnson from the Crows.

I believe we should probably target a lesser light who hasn't been given a go and the Crows number 1 pick, as well as a high pick or two or possibly another player from another club who will take Johnson from the crows. The Crows will get Carey and all should be happy

Go Roos
Still sounds like 'interesting' logic to me.

I don't think the Roos should waste their time on L. Brown either, he seems to be too slow and not good enough basically IMO.
