You're not kidding... He looks substantially bigger than his twin brother.

I saw Davis, didn't see the other guy though, Beatle did.I thought it was Davis and McGinnity but you guys were closer. Davis was holding him on the ground and when they got up I thought I saw some jumper punches. Not sure about the seriousness of it tho.
The Princess Park course is 3.2km.That trend has mostly stopped. Listening to some of the assistants on SEN over the past few weeks they have highlighted that the straight distance running isn't much good, it's the repeated bursts they require. For that stuff, the ball work is as good as anything. That's not to say the boys won't be doing more base fitness work, but they probably won't be doing it in their big sessions. The Famous time trials the Carlton boys do (about 3.8 km from memory) is aparrently the longest run they do all summer....

The word "nuggetty" comes to mind
Yeah think that was Masten... he's still pretty slight IMO.
Bit of a clown too, was mucking around with the draftees, talking while the coaches were talking lol...
Yes it is!!!![]()
Is that Masten in the white cap? Because if it is..
Thanks once again to all who went down.
I'm not saying they do no distance work, they still need their base. They just do less, and I believe that for most clubs they do this as individuals or small groups - not as part of the main sessionsThe Princess Park course is 3.2km.
You would think there would be some benefit in doing some distance work. I mean, we do need to run out games. Being good at repeat sprints would only go so far you would think. Doing a lot of distance running didn't really seem to hurt Cousins' fitness too much...
Yes it is!!!
It surprised me just how big he is up close.
He's currently sporting sideburns as well, which is a good look.
Sideburns Masten.
Had the day off work so thought I'd meander down and watch the boys train this morning.
I'm sure mop and bs will be putting up a full training report, but just thought I'd mention a few things.
Adrian Barich was there and I overheard him talking to someone about mop and beatlesmith saying;
"They're actually pretty good, they do a full comprehensive write up on training.."
Well done boys, you've got Barra's approval!
At one point Shannon Hurn (training with the midfield) ducked his head and broke through about 4 blokes who tried to tackle him in a training drill like they weren't even there. Even had Coxy cheering! About 2 minutes later in the same drill he wrapped up Priddis and drove him into the turf pretty hard. Looked very fit and aggressive.
Looked like all the draftees were there, can't be certain because I don't know what they all look like yet. Not training, just handballing to each other etc... Naita was standing next to Coxy for a few minutes and didn't look too much smaller in his frame, would be able to handle AFL football bodywise for sure, just gotta wait and see what the coaching staff want from him this season.
Seaby is not looking good, owned by Cox in every ruck contest and at one point kicked the ball into the man on the mark, Chad Fletcher, who is like 5 foot tall.
Coxy looked awesome as usual and reinforced my belief that he should be Captain, keeps the talk up through the whole training session, every few minutes I'd hear Cox's voice encouraging the boys.
Didn't see Kerr train, just standing near the Eagles van and having a chat to a trainer..
I hope Notte puts on some weight, his hands and skills are great to watch.
Mitch Brown is a monster and it is not beyond the realm of possibility that he eats small Volkswagons for breakfast.
Anyway I'll leave it at that as I'm sure beatlesmith and mop will have a comprehensive Barra approved training report coming up sometime today.![]()
Yeah I went down today too and said G'day to Barra and he asked me if I was a reporter for Bigfooty and I told him I was a Bigfooty member but the boys over there (pointing in the direction of who I thought was Beatlesmith and Mop) were the ones that did the training reports. He was really impressed with the reports and he said to keep up the good work.
Not at all.
Shuey looks a lot like McGinnity, Beatlesmith was convinced it was in fact McGinnity until Mattman's wonderful brain and eyes of a hawk verified that he was wrong.
I saw Davis, didn't see the other guy though, Beatle did.
I don't think it was McGinnity though, because, from what I did see, Davis and another light-headed bloke were going at it, elbows were raised a bit.
I don't know what's going on there, but if it keeps up I'd expect something to be done about it.
I see what you mean.I'm not saying they do no distance work, they still need their base. They just do less, and I believe that for most clubs they do this as individuals or small groups - not as part of the main sessions
This was before the wrestle, so it could've been two different guys.Hmmm I thought the other guy had short dark hair which is why I thought it was McGinnity compared to Stevenson who has longer lighter hair. Maybe my memory and eyes decieve me tho.

I have to say, our latest recruits certainly have a good size to them, very solid the lot of them, even Swift who at his height you think may be a bit slim. Definitely a bonus you would think.
It could very well be that we're both wrong, the pictures I have of that drill have many blonde moptops in the proximity of Davis..I can't remember but at the time I wrote in my phone that it was Davis and McGinnity but perhaps there was a different incident with Stevenson or I could just be wrong. Davis seems to be quite aggressive nonetheless
I see what you mean.
We should be putting them in running groups and make them go running in the days in between training. For professional athletes, these guys don't really seem to spend too much time training. Particularly with the young blokes we have, we could get a lot out of getting their fitness bases up there early on in their careers.
