Goldsack - 193 cm
Tarrant - 193 cm
Toovey - 190 cm
Harry - 188 cm

V

Lynch - 192 cm
Jack Darling - 191 cm
Josh Kennedy - 194 cm
Nicoski - 188 cm

There is more than enough adequate cover without Reid. If it was a dry day, yes, you would be worried but if anything, the selected side (with Reid) looks too top heavy as it is.

+ resting ruckman - 195+cms

If Reid supposedly did something on Wednesday to the hammy, I find the naming of the emergencies very wierd. If he was in any doubt on Thursday we would have named Keefe as an emergency or Wood so Brown could go back & play in defence. We named neither.

I think we can still come in with a player outside the emergencies, but why bother not naming any key back as an emergency - especially with Taz & his ankle.

More than likely Reid has turned up with some tightness and they are giving him an easy session as a precaution. Still a worry, especially if he does it in the game.

Fair to say Ben Reid being out would be a pretty big one and it may well be that he has some hammy tightness. If that's true they'd be smart to keep him indoors but it doesn't necessarily follow that he won't play IMO.

Goldsack could play CHB:eek:

Well, when you look at the forecast its likely to be wet tomorrow, so bringing in Buckley makes more sense than Keefe.
Hoping that the rain nullifies their talls so we wont miss Ried too much

If we never intended on replacing Reid with Keeffe, it makes sense. Maybe that's why Goldsack stayed in the side. My line of thought is that if we think Keeffe isn't up to playing finals yet, we can't just panic and throw to him now that there has been an injury

I think if Toovey goes to Darling, Tarrant to Kennedy, O'Brien (Brown maybe?) to Lynch and either Maxy or Goldy to the resting ruckman with the left over to play loose, then we might not need Keeffe anyway.

Not so sure Buckley will necessarily come in either. I reckon Fasolo will get the nod.

If Reid did this on Wednesday then I'm very surprised Keefe wasn't included as an emergency....

Exact same thing occured to me. They must think they can cover any potential loss from within the squad.

I am hoping it pours tomorrow. I think it will improve our chances anyway, but especially so if we are looking at being undersized in the backline.

Didn't Reid miss most of the preseason game at Subiaco & Kennedy, Lynch & Darling all played. I may be incorrect but I remember Toovey actually doing a good job on Kennedy.

Keep the Eagles Guessing?
Spot on.

There is a chance that Mick is creating some FUD factor (fear uncertainty doubt) in the lead up.

Even last Friday playing dead, what the world saw was not any new Collingwood weakness, but Geelong's game plan (quick diagnal kick from hal back into the corridor). This could turn out to be football's version of the rope a dope.

Don't underestimate Malthouse's temptations to showcase his Machiavellian genius in his last month on the job.

I just hope it doesn't backfire.

“@Collingwood_FC: From Scott Watters presser after training: "We're hopeful Reid will be able to play but at this stage it's unlikely".”

Oh well put him in the cotton wool for a 2 weeks we will be fine without him

I'm guessing they would have anticipated this before picking the team last night.

Mabye we'll see:

In: Fasolo
Out: Reid

(Goldy being the real in for Reid)

This. Collingwood and WCE both know that this game can be won by WCE forward line or our backline if it comes down to it. I'm putting this one down as bs and is an attempt by collingwood to gain an advantage against WCE by hopefully getting them sucked into this rumour. If Reid doesnt play we have goldy and Macy to cover a key forward that Reid would. I wouldn't bring in keeffe because he just simple won't be accountable.
