Just got back from another great session put together by the boys. Started off with just some general streches nd stuff althought the injury group consisted of SJ, Otto, Varcoe, GAJ, Woj, Mackie, Stokes, Sam Hunt nd Spencer.. and maybe a bloke i dont no...

Harley was also there, buthe just sat and ate breaky.
Otto looked fine, was running freeley and has no probs with hand. (has to be a massive media blow up.) anyway i got a picture of hishand, not sure if its the right one though.

There was alot of emphasis on speed, and moving the ball quickly out of defence forward. Josh Hunt kicked a 60 meter goal through the middle. Was also practicing his kick outs pretty much all were accurate.

After skills they did a bitof a minigame thing, moving the ball quick into the forwards. Trent West was impressive intercepting a kick, while backing into play.

Impressive was our use of teh ball, tenace looks to have improved, as has a few of the other suspect players in our team. However, the onekick at goal from H was shanked.

Nathan Looked good on the lead, and byres has also bulked up. A big suprise was macca, his huge, however the andrew variety may have put on a little, im usure lol. Spenner also looks bigger, as does linga and blake. Does anyone no if bomba is working out? he looks trim aswell for a coach.

Stokes, looks like a kid, i thought it was just some kid who won a comp to train with the cats for a day :lol

No signs of a ruck coach, kenny was taking blake for some one on one stuff with macca. H was also seen doin some ruck work.

When doing the center clearance stuff, we looked really effective at moving tehball quick outta the middle to our forwards, and hitting em on thechest. Chappy looked potent.

umm i got 50meg of stuff bout 70 pics and 3 vids, ne ideas on where to put em??

also any other Q's just ask.

Nice pics....who's the skinny red head? Thought Linga had gone anorexic for a minute but it's some other guy. Love the big group pic, Smiffy and his beard is awesome. Ground in top notch condition as well.

Who's the short guy? Looks like a poor man's Medhurst.

I thought it was Sheringham but on closer inspection it doesn't appear to be.
Stokes - Very short (not in the power forward mould that Bomber first mentioned) but pretty darn solid.

I took my young fella down there that morning and liked what I saw.

McCarthy is the power forward though and looked massive, especially accross the shoulders.

With the contesting drills Tenace and Kelly were great but upstaged by Corey Enright who just about got the ball out every time.

Another highlight was Bombers banter with David Johnston. After Johnno cleared the ball for the third time without handballing, Bomber shouted "Are you too good for your teammates? That's three times in a row that you've ignored them!" It was all a bit quiet before they both had a chuckle.

How did Paul Kolouriotis go? Can he expect to play this year or is Bomber gonna continue to waste him?
Didn't set the world on fire and I don't think that you could say that he's wasted. Carried injuries through last year and struggled to claim a spot in our midfield.

When you consider that he's behind Corey, Ling, Enright, Bartel, Kelly, Ablett & Chapman in the midfield pecking order it makes it a bit clearer. Then throw in Ricco, Tenace, D Johnson, Rooke & Mooney who all have had successful stints on the ball and you can see why he's not first picked week in week out.

Yeah but he finished off 2004 very strong getting in the best nearly every week for the latter part of the season and then was injured early in the 05 season and never got back into the side. When he did get put in it was on and off the bench.

I have played on both him and Paul Chapman back in junior days. Both are great players but theres a lot from Koula that you haven't seen yet. He needs to be starting on a wing and playing a lot of the game.

or is that "koulaboi"?
ha ha arent u a comedian.

Actually i went to high school with him and used to play against him. Thought he showed glimpses of breaking through late 04. I hope he makes it as a player but u obviously have no confidence in him.

I was impressed with his form at the end of '04 - he stepped in well when Bartel was rubbed out for that week, and then showed enough to keep his place. I don't believe that should make him a walk-in start to the 22 though - he needs to show consistency like any other fringe dwelling player.

2004 was like, a year and a half ago now...

He maintained in '05, but as Rosso said, he was carrying an injury and while I don't think he struggled as much as wasn't risked, I also don't think he was given enough time to demonstrate what he can do. He did have a couple of excellent games and some great passages, but there's only so much any player can do in under half a match.
Then again, now that he's hopefully finally gotten his shoulder right maybe we'll get to see him play to his full potential.

Oh, btw LifeSpan-Void, there's only one Koulaboy and that's the one out on the paddock. ;)

How is Steve Johnson going, I really rate him and was wondering if he will fulfull his massive potential by completing an uninterupted pre-season.
