Amiss in the no contact cap but that is not uncommon for him. He is working very hard on his leading patterns and has elite kicking skills. We must find a way of getting him involved again.
Thanks for the info!

I agree, there's a lot of upside in him and our team in that regard.

AFL and WAFL groups have now separated and JOM is in the AFL group, Walker is in the WAFL group. Dudley still in AFL group despite the very quiet game.

Nice to see Bolton training strongly, he looked sore the last few sessions I saw.

Moose is playing in the AFL scratchie selection confirmed!

Finally, Young looks great, lots of training with the main group and high level kicking, looks really close. Simpson was a surprise, already leaping and taking marks well above his head coming on real quick.
Less convincing was Sturt and Switta who are not doing a lot.

The Young and Simpson news is so promising! Where we put them and who they replace... A challenge for another day. I want both pushing us deep into September.

Young and Walker for me. Walker is essential, his lock down capabilities are underrated and we lack that in the back half.

Young in for Banfield
Give Simpson a week in the WAFL then in for Worner (this is a tough call), but I thought Cooper was fantastic.
The we have Switta and Walker, also Sharp and Sturt.
There are going to be some real hard calls.
I think Dudley, Worner, Johnson, Erasmus. Wagner, Fredrick and Amiss all need to bring their A games in the next few weeks. Banners will be fighting for the Sub spot with the above. Also I expect Son Son and Fyfe to get one Sub spot as Fairwell games.

Simpson isn't coming in before Walker.

So, if I was guessing selection I would suggest JOM and Moose in and Fyfe and MacDonald out (he is still training with the AFL group). I hope Amiss is given another chance and don’t see someone out here as his replacement.
Playing more underdone players is interesting.
Dudley isn’t quite yet fit enough, Darcy still restricted minutes. Pearce hasn’t played since Port, 40 days ago.
JOM was sore last week but suddenly he’s in? Pretty obvious would only be in for the sole purpose of tagging Heeney.

Interesting, Duds IMO is carrying a lot of weight going by his last game, Darcy looked great at training really moving so much better now. Pearce was really put through his paces and will improve our team significantly. JOM no idea possible sub?

Yep. Reckon changes will be JOM (replacing Fyfe) and Pearce for Omac. Sounds like Walker won't come in, and JOM will be sub.

Wagner to Gulden
Chapman to Heeney when he goes forward.
Not sure who takes him in the midfield, Brayshaw maybe.

JOM wouldn't have the size to match up on him in the forward line.

It was interesting to hear Jordan Clarke talk effusively about Worner and how he plays his role on the recent podcast.
Worner is playing very good football and it would be a tough call to replace him with Walker, as good as Walker is at locking down small forwards.
Our defence has been a solid unit the last 6 weeks or so. I would be loathe to play with a functioning group who all know their roles.
Perhaps Walker to a wing as a change up, rotating him back if a small forward is getting off the chain?

Gee , I am not sure that our defence has been that bad.I reckon they all are playing well.
I am a big fan of Worner, His courage is as good as any and his skills are good.He puts himself in very dangerous postions.

If, as you say, our backline has stumbled, then maybe look at the outs. Pearce, a massive miss for us.And Young. And Walker.

I'm a big Wombat fan like the rest of us but I am disappointed that in the elite environment he hasn't shed 3-4kgs from his middle since he arrived. He will need to if he is to secure a long career.

Wouldn't Walker come in and Banfield back to sub? He's versatile, can go back, forward and play inn the middle, the perfect sub (pity for him!).

Far too early, but he needs to lose 3-4kg of fat by next march, and probably add 3-4kg of muscle.

Indeed, needs to not waste a second of the off season. Heavy gym first half of off season followed by heavy running sessions in second half. He could be an elite small forward if he gets AFL fit.
