Like many, i'm heading to training tomorrow and will try and put together some notes for BF users. For those that aren't attending and interested, feel free to flag anything that you might be interested in knowing re. player availability, positioning, match sim performance etc.

Anything on Ruck work would be great

Surprised you’re not heading down

He absolutely loves a goal. We've seen it in many games he isn't afraid to be the one to take the ping, I love that about him.

From memory is a member of the First Kick In League Football A Goal club

Am I the only one that finds the mental image of fans in their 30s to 60s having a kick to kick with professional athletes as a thank you, funny?
No judgement, the image just gives me a chuckle.

We're lacking kicking and class back there. George maybe brings that Hall/Ziebell long kicking ability (hopefully with better accuracy) with a versatile, mid-sized, physical profile. Two birds with one stone.

It could also be step one of a transition to the middle in a year or two.
It’s pretty hard to kick goals if you can’t effectively work the ball out of defence. The coaches (and fans) saw how abysmal our transition game out of defence was in ‘23.

We have been begging to have effective users out of defence since we lost the likes of King, Pickett, Blakey and Archer.

We have seen how positive a change using a highly esteemed and super fit forward as a half back can make to our chances of kicking a goal.

We should not be surprised considering our strength in medium forwards (Zurhaar, George, Sheezel, Ford, Duursma, Harvey, Curtis, Stephenson) that one or two of our smartest should be used in possibly the most important role in the modern game. A role might I add, that we have almost wholly discounted while our opposition have won finals and premierships employing to good effect.

I'm not huge on Fisher but kicking creativity is one thing he'll give us back there for the short term even though he struggles for 45m+. McKercher too will be important, and Sheezel can (and I expect will) go back there on occasion. So out of the three, that's two blokes with a reputable kick on them and two blokes with noticeable pace. We've been behind the half back flanker 8 ball for a decade, and it isn't 90s levels of quality, but it at the very least seems the club has identified it as a problem and wants to resolve it
