My friend went to a Club 42 function today and here a summary:

Tom Mitchell, Dan McStay, Billy Frampton, Oleg Markov, Ed Allan, Jakob Ryan, Oscar Steene and Joe Richards in attendance for Club 42.

How did Ginni go in the midfield match up vs Pendles and Mitchell?

Personally I think there is a bit of over-entitlement going on here. It still the preseason, especially for the VFL.

Timmy - you realise my statement was a response to a question posed by another poster who directly quoted me so I think I'm entitled to respond

Personally, I think on a BF board I have the right to ask what is going on with a couple of my favourite recruits and when I might see them - esp when the club gives minute-by-minute updates on Lipinski.
You're free to think I'm over entitled but I'm not sure you need to post it - I have a lot of thoughts on other posters but just let it slide if it's a minor point on an internet forum.

Thanks for the info Jen. Genuine question, does Allan loom as a Pendles replacement simply because he's a tall mid, or does he actually play like him?

The short answer is that nobody plays like Pendles.

Agreed although Nick has learnt a lot from him - has his old man's natural talent and poise but mixed in with Pendles' smooth movement and field craft.

You could say Peter was the essence of a creator on the field but Nick is an enabler as well as a creator.

If he learns from Mitchel what he has to offer then the sky is the limit.

All that taken into consideration and postulating no serious injuries or health issues the potential is astronomical.

Didn't look out of place. Faired well enough. Used his smarts and creativity to get in spots, and usually found him on the bottom of the pack trying to get the ball.

Yeah I'm not sure. He is a good build. Great running capacity and pace. I'm not sure I see him pendles-like (but who is?) But he does have good composure with ball in hand, and makes good decisions.

I definitely think we have a good prospect on our hands. And will turn out to be a bargain.

Would moving Nick Daicos to a wing opposite Josh and using Steele as the high half forward/midfield Lipinski role work?
In the cauldron would still be a combination of Mitchell, DeGoey, Crisp, Pendles, Adams,

I think Pendles is the perfect Lippa replacement. Both great users of the ball forward of centre, Pendle's mid minutes will be reducing this year anyway...so instead of back where he'll be found out for speed and overhead capabilities....maybe forward/mid is the go?

I think Crisp’s physical attributes complement the rest of our midfield to tops to move him away from there.

Crisp is one of our main mids. Move him to Lippas role then we need to replace Crisp. Lippas replacement comes from Reef Carmichael etc
