Kid needs to get a life. He's going to burn himself out.
These guys have all been off since the last week of September, I know what your saying, but it's exciting to see this core group back training early, hungry for 2023.
I would expect a few more boys progressively joining this group over the next week.

Nah. I wasn't saying anything. I was just being a tosser.

He is still Overseas I think

Yes I think he is too. Oslo I think!

I just realized I posted that comment in the wrong thread, we were discussing elsewhere yesterday about how people were annoyed with him last year for not returning to training early.

Darcy just simply loves playing for Collingwood - it's unlikely he would play into his 30's even injury free - he doesn't have the drive and intensity in football of Nick or Pendles.

Most people get 4 weeks off a year. We all need holidays like AFL players....

You’ve come up with some questionable crap in your time Jon, but this takes the cake… 🤦🏼

Darcy is entirely committed to Collingwood but not to getting the last season or two out of his career.

Like many of the new breed he doesn't live and breathe football.

Yeah I can agree with this actually. He’s an incredibly intelligent guy, and an excellent speaker. I can see him moving into a public-facing career early-ish. I agree he’s unlikely to pushing on at 35 like Pendles.

I could see Darc as AFL CEO one day. Or in politics. Or like… facilitating world peace.

From all his interviews, it's pretty clear that Darcy Moore loves playing footy and has come to love being a part of a team. Who knows how long that will continue. One things for sure though, unless it's injuries that curtail him, it's going to take an enormous amount of physical decline before Darcy Moore begins to physically struggle with the demands of the game. He's athletically awesome.

And despite many of the new breed not living and breathing football, careers of good players are extending longer and longer than they used to with 30 no longer being a pivotal age of decline, because they just prepare so much better than they used to.

He is returning to pre-season a bit later than some others as he has some important negotiations to complete in Ukraine.

Yep. Nato have been really impressed with his AFL press conferences and have really big things lined up for his future. Once he sort out Putin it's just onwards and upwards for Darce.

Fun fact about his dad. Played 77 games for Melbourne and we all know he won a Brownlow with them in '84. In that year, he played 22 games and polled 24 votes. In his other 55 games for the Dees, he polled 11 votes - polling in 5 games.

It was all about the ruck. He just ran rings around other ruckmen. If you look at his whole 14 year career at both clubs, he actually only had 4 full seasons in the ruck - and won the Brownlow in two of those 4 years and finished high up with 18 and 16 votes in the other two years.

Yep he's much more than a footballer.

It's good to see so many of the boys back early.
It indicates that they have the hunger to do better next year - one of the intangibles that can give us an edge.
Great to hear about Draper training hard to make up for lost time.
We've had so many shoulder injuries - Draper, Kreuger, Elliott, Lipinski, Maynard.
We have quite a number of players hopefully on the cusp of exploding - Macrae, McInnes, Draper, Harrison, Carmichael, Johnson, Nick, De Goey.
The last one from the point of view of playing consistently to his potential.
Exciting times ahead!
