I was their today and Astbury was impressive, very impressive and has muscled up quite a lot.
He is one of the most natural footballers I've seen at Richmond in my time, his got really nice skills for his size, leadership and a damn good football brain, he almost always makes the right choice with the ball even in his first year I felt so much more secure when he had the ball in the oppositions forward line then our more seasoned defenders in McGuane, Thursfield and Moore.

Great report but need more close up photos of the boys at training even if they are just standing around or walking past. Great work keep it up. Do you do other teams or just the Tigers ? If just Tigers why?

Yeh It's harder when you're pretty far away. I'll try and zoom in a bit more if it helps :) I've done Collingwood and Richmond so far as they are in very convenient spots. I'm looking into doing others soon. Doggies tomorrow hopefully. Carlton and North sometime next week. I would also like to go to St Kilda and see their new facilities.

David Astbury will be pushing for AA centre-half-back in the next few years... yes, I will keep saying it! ;)
 
Haven't heard much more news about Pat Contin, were all the reports true that he was training so well, is he capable of playing for Richmond this season?

Apparantly he's really training well. Will most likely play a couple of NAB cup games which will give us a better look, and if he impresses in those, he could see some gametime through the year. I reckon Hardwick will give games to kids sometimes even if they haven't exactly "earnt" them, particularly late in the season. Reckon he'l play a couple, probably later in the season. His goal will be that once he cracks a spot in the 1s, he'l want to stay there.

FWIW, a few guys who have seen more of him and know more than I do about him rate him pretty highly.
 
Young Pat is training the house down he's really good at burpees , push ups and star jumps. He doesn't have to do ball work because he is more skill full than Gary Ablett Senior.

Will play alot of footy in 2011
