Houli - no idea, but saw Brad Miller in the pics. Looks ripped compared to some of the kids ;)
Even though it looked like it was just a time trial today it was good to see no strapping anywhere. Also pleased to see that a few of the kids actually look like they are putting on a little bit of muscle.

Miller looks like a real unit
Lids fantastic
Edwards really looks like he's putting in
Rance ...............Monster
Post looks similar to 2010 season
Martin.............Unbelievable for a 18 yo

Taylor .... very very dissapointed not there

Really gotta stop getting the indigenous blokes from interstate, none of them can handle being away from home, I understand the indigenous community is a very tight nit group and very family oriented and when they leave they get home sick... but surely we should learn from these mistakes, Relton, Taylor... just stick to either Vic based indigenous or kids that know what they are getting into

This is in NO WAY meant to be a racist comment, just a point of view.

Hope Troy sorts out his personal issues and comes back to the club, he looks like he could be a real star.

You don't mean to be racist but you want us to totally disregard interstate players of a particular race?

How abot we treat each player individually and draft who ever the best talent is?

What's your point?
You think we should ignore a player based on race? Maybe hawthorn shouldn't have drafted Rioli? Melbourne with Jarruh?

This isn't the thread for it but this case has everything to do with Troy's personality and upbringing and nothing to do with with his race.

For all everyone know's he could have had a death in the family or somthing similar and he'll be back next week. Let's just give the generalisations a rest for the time being.

Rioli and Jurrah are totally different to Taylor.

Rioli had been living in Melbourne since he was 14. He has champion footy family connections.

Melbourne has a massive aboriginal base. They love Aaron Davey there. He's a really good leader.

Are you saying that every player and his circumstances are different? If you are I completely agree.

I don't understand your point re Melbourne though? All supporters love good players regardless of race but your saying because we don't have any good aborigional players already we shouldn't draft them and that's why it was ok for Melbourne too?

It has to start somewhere...

Let's face it -we don;t know the circumstances of Taylor's departure. Let's hope the clubgives him every reason (support) to come back and be the player he can be.

Back to the crux of this thread - it's great to see the younger tigers building upper body strength.

From the photos of training - for some reason, I'm getting a sense of commitment from the playes in that they want to be their best and to be a part of the next chapter in the tigers story.

Polo had some talent (not as much as Taylor, but still some) and look how far that got him. Drafting is a balance. You can't draft all good attitudes and average talent, or all potential guns that may crash and burn in their first year. Taylor was a risk, and everyone in the footy world knew it.

What ever is going on with Taylor, well, only Taylor knows. Maybe he'll play next year as a Tiger, maybe not.

The kid probably just needs some time with family & friends.

after a month he will realise that he needs to come back, a little flexability with kids like troy are required.

im not saying ignore them, but at least let them know what they are in for... psych evaluations to see if they are capable living away from home... hell for any job where you work away you have to go through that. Just seems Richmond have a very bad record with indigenous players not being able to hack living away... maybe it is something to do with the club, who knows...

I hope Taylor takes the extra time off, re-evaluates his options and comes back to be the player that we know he can be... I would suggest talking to Relton as he has already come out and said he wishes he didn't quit so early.

I really think its time for tough love with this bloke. Cotton wool hasn't worked.

We really havent had any luck what so ever with aboriginal players over the last decade...
Krakouer, Gilligan, Tambling, Taylor, Roberts, Peterson, Jon, McGrath.

The highlighted players have all been booted because of behaviour.
Roberts was very lazy so he could be added to that.
Jon & Tambling both couldnt handle the pressure.

Without being racist, facts prove that it is a very big risk drafting aboriginal players.

what about Polo? Meyer? Gourdis? all players who have been delisted for attitude problems and that is just going back the last 2 years.

Your just trying to isolate these issues to being exclusively indigenous when they're not.
