I just found from another source that he is 197cm, so who knows. Also, he kicked 9 goals from 6 Coburg senior matches this year which is very handy and more impressive the Westoff who couldn't break the side. Played CHB for
NSW aswell in the 09 championships which suggests he has had limited experience up forward

Westhoff is very much a project player & we shouldn't really expect much from him untill 2012 to be honest. Still very very light & raw but moves well and is definately worth persisting with ......... He is a natural full foward

Keeper.

What about Lawton from Coburg? I think his first name was James???

Is listed at 192cm but certainly seems taller then that, however maybe thats just attributed to his thin frame.

Player for NSW champs team back in 2009 but didn't get drafted. Started in Coburg reserves then played games at full forward and center half forward with the seniors and did pretty well. If this guy was on our list this year, he would have played 5-10 games easy.

I reckon we could get him in the rookie draft which would be an absolute steal. Could be a project CHF for our side? Alternatively could easily even make it as a winger of HFF due to his good speed and mobility.

To balance the argument I would say his only downside would be his light frame, and his overhead marking.

...and his kicking, from what I've seen :(

That wizard is just a crazy old man. Now, tomorrow I want you to take that R2 unit to Anchorhead and have it's memory erased.

Or could just use the force:D:D:thumbsu:

These 2 boy speciall have been flying under the radar so to speak,Both hardly mentioned and seen.
So if these boys come off will be a great bonus,They will of been in the system for 18 months & had 2 preseasons in them. Looking foward to all of last years recruits with a bit more muscle on the frame and how they handle it.

Really would like to know how griffiths is going , doesn't seem to be much mentioned.

Yeah, I'll be able to hold on to my forum name :thumbsu:

If he is the guy I'm thinking of it is a good move. Saw him play a couple of games last year and is a hard at it, inside/outside midfielder. Seemed to have good skills, but lacked a tank at that stage.
I got this info of a guy from the draft board.

Played school footy against him 2 years ago so my memory is a bit hazy but is tall/medium forward with strong dukes and a nice long kick. was a big crowd favourite too

I would assume he's not training yet at all, as far as his recovery is going I'd like to know that too.

I was there on Monday and he was out training with the lads, I think I counted only about 21 of them at one stage. I honestly wasn't paying too much attention so I can't remember if he joined in with everything. I'm also not a fitness expert what-so-ever so excuse the vagueness! They were split up into three or four groups when I got there, rotating every now and then to do another activity and I remember he was involved in that cus of all the shoulder strappings he had on. Then afterwards they were playing some keepings off type game, ball just being kicked back and forth between 'teams', but I'm pretty sure during that time he was off with Edwards doing one-on-one stuff, Edwards throwing the ball down and he was collecting it up. Why's Edwards been in the red jumper? Saw a video of it last week and he was in it again on Monday...any reason? Anyways, that's about it, not much but better than nothing I suppose.

I went and had a look at training today.

* Big emphasis on the zone, and zoning in general. Drills involved skill components followed by organising ourselves into a zone, and then moving back and forwards, right and left etc. Players seemed to do this very well. There was lots of chatter, good to see.

* General disposal was impressive, morale/feeling a little lacklustre.

* Dave Astbury is generally really impressive. He's bulked up considerably and is starting to get some really good size about him. I wonder if he can run? He looks like he'll be a very good player for us.

* Grigg seemed to be fitting in really nicely, although I don't think I saw him after about 11:30.

* Hicks is filling out very nicely. I remember last year between the ND and RD, he looked like a little boy. He's thicker now, and I'm positive he may have grown a few centimetres. He was a BIG positive for me today.

* Axel was training. He actually took a drill. Didn't do much though, was walking limp free and did some kicking.

* Biggest positive was Nason. He's absolutely delicious. Moved very smoothly, used the ball well. Massive call, but top 10 in the B&F.

* Morton, Connors & Martin looked super sharp. Morton is looking very slim and is moving well.

* King has some pretty extraordinary new ink which is sure to be the brunt of abuse from opposition supporters.

* Didn't see Griffiths (although I admit he may have been out there training) or Jack (International Rules??).

* Edwards wore a red bib throughout training (the only player to do so) - perhaps a training ranking?? Red is number 1? This makes sense, he was flying.

* Cotchin looked 100%. Great sign.

* Miller's disposal was ugly yet somehow always seemed to find the target. Watched him fairly closely and was super impressive. I can't see how this guy being on our list is in anyway negative. The way he went about things and general demeanour was admirable.

* I'm worried about Gus, and our overall size in general and I doubt whether Gus will be around November 2011. Browne looked OK, as did Vickery, just OK though. I know they need time, and at the moment we have it. But it will run out soon. I hope we're seriously considering Gorringe/Lynch at #6.

That's all that really jumps out at me at the moment. Happy to answer specific questions.

How did Dea and Contin go both these blokes are going to play in a premiership for Coburg next year ?

Oh and Rance , this guy is going to have an interesting year.

Dea looked fairly sharp, better than the amount of footy he's played suggests. It's a tough small back line to crack in to though (Lids, Connors, Newman).

Contin looked good, but haven't seen much of him tbh. You wouldn't think he's a rookie if you didn't know our list.

Rance I really like. Dimma was always communicating with him. He's moving really well and skills looked to have improved. I think he'll have a breakout year. Drafted in a similar spot to Frawley, same height, granted they're different players but I think this one is Rance season.

Regarding Dea, I never realised he was under 190cm, is there a chance for him to go into the midfield? Does he have the tank?

He's definately got the skill not sure about the tank. I think we'll see a fair bit of him at half forward if Taylor pulls the pin. Contin will probably get 6 Brownlow votes from 3 or 4 games off the rookie list and be invited to play against Ireland at the end of the year. It will be good experience for him before we promote him for 2012.

Contin the new Andy Collins maybe RT?!? :D

I think that means no contact. He's had surgery on his shoulder (was in a sling at the B&F), so they're taking it easy.
