Belly can't play, so move along children.

When does training start, and can someone update us on SonSon and Pav please ?

It's ok. Sonson & Pav won't play this week according to RTB.

Ross Lyon held a pres conference and confirmed that Walters and Pav will not play this week.

Seppo mentioned it in a different thread.

This is a first, the club is on the front foot with a training report and beaten our regulars to it!
The playing squad was back in full training following the mid-season bye with a morning session on a cold but sunny Fremantle Oval
Ross Lyon used the session to fine-tune skills and strategy ahead of Saturday’s game against Brisbane at Patersons Stadium.
Matthew Pavlich and Michael Walters did not participate, but that was expected because Lyon had already ruled them out of the Lions clash.
Paul Duffield and Cam Sutcliffe were absent from the track, while Danyle Pearce only completed a series of short runs along the boundary line.
The team will have its main session on Thursday morning ahead of team selectio

A solid session Seppo Crichton ran laps for pretty much the whole session, the mullet was looking fine and he even cracked a smile as when i suggested he might wanna run the other way to change it up a little. The Yalgoo Flash is looking like he is still somewhat coming to grips with the game plan, but when he runs I would suggest that there would be very few people who could get near him. Certainly very few of the Freo players from this session anyway.
Hilly looked a million bucks and was easily spotting up targets on both feet.
No sutty, duffield did some light running early on before heading back inside for the remainder of the session. As i was leaving I saw pav and sandi leaving the gym, both of whom seemed in fine spirits

I was just about to post the exact same training report, so now I don't have to.

Salim's tip is that Tommy Sheridan may come in for Cam Sutcliffe, or maybe Matty Taberner for Alex Silvagni.

Just a good, sharp yet light session today with 33 players on the track. No stand outs or highlights today. Salim, Irish Docker or Gaskin may have something more to add though.

Short, to the point and not half as much fun as waiting on our own panel of experts to report in. Hope the club doesn't make a habit of it :) .

I thought the quality of the match sims was outstanding! The kick passing was breathtaking!

Hey Harry-where did you find the sports psychology article we were talking about earlier?

I'll be repaying the faith to many on here in the off-season.
Just booked holidays from Dec 9th thru till Christmas to get back to WA. Hopefully that gives me a few training sessions before the players go on leave. We usually have the PSD/Rookies join us around the first week of December and the new numbers allocated. Perfect time for ass-cushion signings.

Just a quick question, why does everyone say that Silvagni will be replaced this week. Sutty came in for him at the last moment so he was never onthe final team sheet.

I doubt Silvagni will play and wouldn't think Tabener will play. I wouldn't mind seeing Sheridan play but clearly Michie is in better form and would also hope Sutcliffe holds his spot.

Surely Michie would have first crack? If they are gonna be used as the sub I don't think the playing styles will matter. Michie should be able to outperform Sheridan in less than a half of footy.

If we go in unchanged and the weather is good (Sunny 21), wouldn't that leave us a bit short?

Ruck: Clarke, Mundy, Barlow
HF: Fyfe, ??? , Sutcliffe
F: Ballas, Hannath, Mayne

There's a big gaping hole there for Silvagni or Taberner.

Dawson played that role a bit against the crows, I wonder how the Brisbane team will look at the start of the game?

There team vs Collingwood has three talls in the foward line(Michael, Lester and Paparone), altough Lester played back against Collingwood and Michael had a very average game.

If they pick a short team , not picking an extra tall e.g. Silvagni\Taberner would allow us to through Dawson forward.

Team vs Collingwood

B: Jed Adcock, Joel Patfull, Ashley McGrath
HB: Elliot Yeo, Justin Clarke, Brent Staker
C: Andrew Raines, Simon Black, James Polkinghorne
HF: Rohan Bewick, Sam Michael, Pearce Hanley
F: Dayne Zorko, Ryan Lester, Marco Paparone
Foll: Billy Longer, Brent Moloney, Jack Redden
Int: Patrick Karnezis, Ryan Harwood, Jack Crisp, Sam Docherty
Emerg: Aaron Cornelius, Josh Green, Todd Banfield

Moloney is out injured and Rockliff is back.

Very run of the mill session this morning but the highlite was Sonny rocking up in a brand new Beamer
See what happens when you put the head down ,work your but of and get yourself a nice new contract:D;)

No reports mentioning Silvagni out there. Was he?

Did Walters have any noticeable impairment of his mobility?

So someone might be dropped for Silvagni or Tabener, not someone coming in for Silvagni as he never actually played against the crows.

Still sunny or not I don't want a tall to replace anyone after that great effort.
