"Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder."

The golden fleece is a thing to be marvelled.

How much would you pay for a hair shirt made of Chrichton's mullet? Does such a sum of money exist? Could we auction such a shirt and set the club up for the next decade?

I don't have much time right now but I'll just add that Salim & I thought the mood of the group and the general vibe of the thing was very very good today. Both of us were worried about the North game but were reassured by a strong training session. As we discussed, If we are genuinely a top 4 team this year then we should win the games we should win and this is one of them.
Salim is currently offline due to PC issues in case anyone is wondering.
It was great to to see Pav, Sandi and Walters out there. Pav looked real good. Both he and Sandi look like they could take the field anytime but as has been said by Ross, they are only going to get one chance to bring them back for the business end so they are going to go conservative and try to have the full group for a crack at September.
Walters almost certain to return this week.

Think I just chubbed up a bit.

Just a bit of local colour for the day. Fyfey & Mora are both eating poached eggs on toast at Ootong & Lincoln Cafe presumably charging up before training. Gees they are big lads.
I could upload a phone pic but feel like I'm venturing into stalker territory.

Its not stalking if you are sharing with your purple brothers/sisters :)

You are not a stalker. You are one of our field operatives.

Always good to see a few of the guys there :) What other haunts do our boys have in Freo

Ootong & Lincoln about to become my new hangout. Ditching the Mill Bakehouse - even though my daughter and I recently had a late breakfast 'with' (two tables away in an almost empty cafe is kind of 'with') Stephen Hill, Chris Mayne and Michael Barlow just recently. I wanted to take a pic, but I too thought it was a bit stalkerish. So I made the kid do it instead. :thumbsu:

Training Report

A small but vocal crowd gathered to watch training today. The highlight was seeing Bluey getting to share a light hearted joke with Ross Lyon, otherwise known as the "String Bag".

The players were broken into 2 groups as usual. The main squad that will play on Sunday and the rest, otherwise referred to as the "WAFL Boys".

Training with the WAFL players today was Cam Sutcliffe, whom was wearing Jayden Pitt's number 4 guernsey. No sign of any strapping or moon boot and he trained well.

The most notable absentee was Stephen Hill who was not sighted at all at the club today.

Lachie Neale, wearing Cam Sutcliffe's number 33 guernsey today, filled in for Hilly.

The boys looked sharp today and Alex Silvagni trained with the main squad.

Sandi and Pav trained with the main group and just keep getting better with their skills.

I am sure at least one of them will make an appearance in the Geelong game next week.

I wouldn't be surprised if they both get up for Geelong and it's the first time in the season we field our full strength side.

G,day Hazza. Quick question. Was Crozier training and was he strapped up as it sounds like he may not be 100% fit?

Did Danyle train with the main group and how did he look?

Ross was jogging over to near where we were to put the ground markers out for the players. Being within an ear-shot of us, Bluey couldn't resist and yelled out "Gee Ross, you look like you could still play."

To which Ross replied, "Not bad for a fat (expletive) hey?"

We all had a laugh over that and was great to see Ross with a smile on his face after someone over the fence had yelled out to him. I was worried for Bluey that the response may have been a bit frostier.

Bluey once said that "Ross looks more relaxed than a string bag out there" and the nick name stuck.
