Mega Thread TRAINING REPORTS

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Me too (on holidays I mean) - I think I might even wander down with my young fella for a squizz. There was a time when I was the only one doing these training reports... of course they were nowhere near as detailed and the analysis was not as in-depth, but I tried. In hindsight, I thought I was giving great effort, but it has taken the current dedicated group to really show what giving great effort means. Clearly I was a victim of the CC era - a really good coach like RTB could have brought out the best in me, but sadly I retired before my unfulfilled potential could be reached. Thank goodness for the regulars of the Salim Malik stand.

You sell yourself short , IP. Your reports were first rate and contained detail about butts and legs that these modern reporters don't even notice.:)

Contrary to popular belief, he isn't our first Vivian.

I'm sure you all can recall the spring-haired, monobrowed exploits of one Kingsley Vivian Hunter.

Picked him out of a crowd at the last home game. Has certainly been in a good paddock.

31 out on the track today as the training observers tried to hide from the icy wind and light rain in the Salim Malik stand.

The WAFL boys included Viv Michie and Alex Silvagni, whilst notable absentees at training today were David Mundy, Michael Johnson and Hayden Crozier.

Seen in the gym only today was Paul Duffield and Clancee Pearce.

Those on light duties were Chris Mayne, Luke McPharlin, Nick Suban, Danyle Pearce, Cam Sutcliffe and Lee Spurr.

Mora did his usual training session which consists of training with the main squad until the contact stuff starts and then running laps for the rest of the session. Frustration got the better of Salim today when he decided to jump the fence and confront Mora whilst he was running laps about when he was going to be back playing footy again.

Highlight today was that Pav, Micky B and Sandi are raring to go and looked really good out there.

Great report, obviously Pav and Sandi gearing up for AFL return not WAFL like some suggest.. Mundy going to be given last chance tomorrow/Friday?

Somewhat cocnerning, considering they thought he was going to get up for the Roos and suddenly is still a ??? two weeks later.

I honestly think they are just being super cautious. Mundy was our best finals performer last year, we need him cherry ripe for the run home.

We should be able to account for the Saints midfield comfortably. Let Barra have another week off and bring him back for his second Ross Glendinning of the year.

Bluey popped in yesterday and said that Mundy trained really well. The only reason the main training sessions are today and Friday is because of the Sunday game.

Great report by Harry but to add a little extra Luke was running laps very ginger and had his ankle heavily strapped and his shin taped and Clancee watched on from the changerooms
Could be a disaster if we lose Luke,Duff,Clancee and Johnno for this game
Oh and Mora said he would be back in a couple of weeks:rolleyes:

Hopefully just managing his load if he trained yesterday.

Sound like Freo may have a make shift backline this weekend instead of a makeshift forward line in other weeks. Very lucky Freo are playing the saints hope a few of the boys are ready to go for WC ala Jonno and Clancee.

EFA Salim was out there too.

Peel are struggling in their ressies team, Salim may get a call up. :p Makes Bootsma look like a rookie.

That's why Salim jumped the fence and grabbed Mora by the throat today. He said and I quote, "Peel ressies can't even field a side and here's you just running laps all day-everyday up here! What gives Mora?"

Just to be serious for a moment though, Sandi played mostly forward today and looked good. Just listening to Ross's presser from today he said that Sandi will ruck and play forward this week.

He also said that Mundy will play and is just being managed. Michael Johnson is very sore but also expected to play according to Ross. So it sounds like the only definite out is Paul Duffield and Lee Spurr should come back in for him.

Not sure we are that lucky, about the only thing the saints have going for them is a good forward line. If we are minus 4 of our regular back 6 missing it's a downer, we'll still win but it will turn into a much closer game than it should

Yeah forget my previous post, just saw Riewoldt is out, and McPharlin and MJ are in. We are going to thump them.

Still think there's a chance they'll make a late call on MJ. Both SCOS and Tabs named in the extended team points to wanting to cover for that.

Does anyone have any idea when Morabito will start contact drills?

If not, can someone at training please ask someone? salim malik - Did you get the chance during your run?

We don't know and even if we ask down at training we don't get a straight answer.

Fremantle’s big inclusions for Sunday’s game against St Kilda trained strongly this morning and have all but confirmed their return to the side.

Matthew Pavlich, Aaron Sandilands, David Mundy and Michael Barlow were in good spirits as they participated in all facets of the session.

Lee Spurr, who missed last week’s game with gastro, began the session on light duties but joined the main group later on.

That was also the case for Zac Dawson and Clancee Pearce.

With his left knee strapped, Michael Johnson was put through a series of runs along the boundary line.

Chris Mayne was also limited to running laps, as was Luke McPharlin.

Paul Duffield made an appearance but only slow-jogged as he recovers from a calf injury that will keep him out for a fortnight.

Fremantle’s final 22 will be confirmed on fremantlefc.com.au at 2.30pm Friday. Tune in then to find out if all the big inclusions will be confirmed as starters for the game against the Saints.
