I know this isn't the right place but wasn't sure where else to ask... How's Sam Menegola coming along?

He's had a very nasty knee injury this year. It doesn't look like he is going to get a look in. Decent WAFL player without being a star. Probably doesn't have the hurt factor for AFL footy. But he has been played as a midfielder when his preferred position has always been forward.

Still young though and could make it at another club. But too far down the pecking order at Freo.

Training today was focused on the youngsters running through various drills and simulated match play preceeded and followed by an address to the young padawans by the great man Pav.

During a break in play I wandered down to Culley's for a curry pie and paper, managed to avoid Sam Newman in an Eagles jumper trying to stir things up on High Street. Gave a nod to Lethal Leigh loitering in the arcade which cuts through past timezone.

(School Holiday Clinic today attended by 600 kids and most of the players in damp conditions). Only absent players were MJ, McPharlin, Griffin, Bradley and Mora I think - probably off doing rehab. Duffield came out late to sign autographs only. Special mention to Crowls, 211 and Hilly who stayed behind signing more autographs some time after the Dockers staff had told the players to leave.

Seeing as it's family day today I will give it a miss and have re-organised to be down at training on Friday. Hopefully there'll be a good attendance especially as it's school holidays.

Friday is a closed session according to todays official report.

Will that be at Subi or Freo Oval I wonder?

They can't do closed sessions at Freo because of the public car park.

They technically can't do closed sessions at Subi either because the Eagles are based there.

It doesn't say. It says

The team will hold a closed training session on Friday as they prepare to take on West Coast in this Sunday’s Carlton Mid Derby at Patersons Stadium at 2.40pm.

The final open training session of 2013 will be held at Fremantle Oval next Tuesday, 16 July from 8.30am.

With the way it is worded in the official report, I think `closed`session refers to no access to players as opposed to the autograph signing session there was yesterday.

I think so too. I felt sorry for Mora and Pav last week when some people whom had just purchased items from the team store decided that they were going to interrupt training by demanding that they signed their newly purchased merchandise.

Both players told the fans that they can't sign autographs until they finish training which was met with groans of disappointment from the spurned fans.

I had to time the signing of my arse cushion to work in with Fyfey, so why can't they?

People forget that in other countries players will charge you for their autographs.

I tried to stick a 20 down the front of Fyfey's dacks after signing my arse cushion for me. He slapped my hand away though once I had a hold of the elastic in his shorts.

I guess he doesn't need the money?

So that means we can still watch training right? Just not annoy players for autographs.

That won't stop Bluey from throwing comments loud enough for String Bag and anyone else within ear shot of him ie anywhere on the oval .

Of cause if any players BF watchers like get close enough they will still get asked questions and jokes will be shared with Hayden about Who's coming in to replace Elvis .

I would love it if RTB came over and had a quick few words with the BF boys that would make their day like WOW HE SPOKE TO MEEE HO YES some would say it would be better than S**:mad::D

Quite a few extra bodies down there this morning plus the usual crew. Salim wasn't there unfortunately although Bluey reckoned that he might have switched allegiance and was at Eagles training!!

Nobody really stood out in my opinion it was just very sharp allround with some very good skills being displayed. A number (from memory walters, Mundy, Gu, Ibbo, PearceD, and a few others) of exspected 22 players were not involved in the main trainin session but did some run throughs and sharp work by themselves. Towards the end of the session Silvagni was doing one on one work with a couple of assistants practising bring the ball out from inside the 50 with short accurate kicks.

Main squad did spend some time at working their way to get over a press.

Thanks JtG. Any clues on who will make the cut this afternoon?
