I don't see how they possibly hold on to all of Swallow, O'Meara, Martin and Bennell if they all turn out to be A grade plus. You would think at least one would be likely to be squeezed out (most likely to a WA club) over the next 3 or 4 years depending on how quickly they progress.

Unless they make a focus on keeping the WA core of their team together - it's not a bad nucleus to be working with

Harley Bennell generally makes Hill's run and game look second rate when they're on the same field. I kinda feel like that's how Hill should be playing. His game against us last time was pretty impressive.

They've played on the same field once. Hill was killing it early then went off with an injury...

Hill could be the next GAJ. Bennell is in the same boat. Bennell has a pretty clear advantage with who he is training with every day though. None of our top line mids play like Hill could/should.

Martin is sitting pretty with a 5 year contract though. Will be really interesting to see how the contracts play out.

Training Report Tuesday 7th of May

34 players were out on the track today with the most notable absentees being Matt De Boer and Jono Griffin who just did gym work today, as did Pav.

Sandi not sighted at all today.

Stephen Hill just ran laps all morning and looked to be moving well. He has passed one fitness test and will be tested again on Thursday. I think he will play for mine.

Fyfe and Morabito just ran laps all morning before doing some light ball work together. The highlight for me was Mora kicking a 55m goal from the boundary line that went though at 3/4 post height. He looks really amazing and ready to play.

Zac Clarke moved well today and engaged in ruck drills with Jack Hannath. His left calf is still bandaged though, but that may be purely precautionary.

Josh Simpson trained really well today despite all the negative press surrounding him. Shame he won't play in the state game this weekend due to disciplinary reasons. He has so much class about him, I just hope he can get his head right.

All in all the squad looked great today with their match sims. Mostly great skills with the odd clanger here and there seeing a player or two having to hit the ground to give Ross 20 push ups as punishment.

Danyle Pearce really impresses me at training, if only he could hit the targets that he hits during training when the game is being played.

Other observations were Silvagni down back with Luke McPharlin whilst Zac Dawson played up the ground.

Viv Mitchie looking like he is about to get a call up very soon as he looked amazing today in the midfield.

Crozier and Sheridan also impressed on the field today.

I will now take general questions from the floor.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

And how has Forster been training, seems to be slowly improving at WAFL level.

About 9.30am I think, and Forster looked pretty good today. Still has a long way to go before being considered to play AFL though.

Next question....

Hi Harry, long time listener, first time caller! Which big men pushed forward during the match sims? And was Clancee training across HBF or midfeild.

Hi JMT, I called into Culley's in Myaree on the way home from training today. For those interested, it's on the corner of McCoy St and North Lake Rd.

Anyway, Clancee played across HBF today and looked great. He was clearing the ball beautifully with those long penetrating kicks.

Jack Hannath and Zac Clarke took turns playing forward today, whilst the other did the ruck work at the stoppages.

Zac could come straight in without a WAFL game I think.

Harry ,Mora had his knee strapped yesterday while running laps, was it still strapped this morning and did Mora join in the general skill work

Hi Salim, I sat with Bluey and the old timers today. I missed you, but Bluey didn't. You going on Thursday?

No strapping what-so-ever on Morabito and he did not join in on the general skills at all. He and Nat Fyfe just ran laps together before doing some handball drills. It was strange watching Fyfey not participate in any of the match sims considering he is not injured.

I guess they have to practice without him as he won't be playing this weekend.

Mora then finished off the session with about 10 shots for goal 50 metres out on the western side boundary line, of which 8 went through the big sticks for a goal.

We all got a little aroused over that.
