Mega Thread TRAINING REPORTS

Training was extremely light this morning. Only about 15 trained the rest just did nothing or some laps/kick to kick. Of the ones that trained, Pav, Barlow, Hill and Clarke were the only senior guys. The rest were the young boys.

Griff came out near the end and did some slow jogging with the rest of the rehab group. Couldn't really get a gauge on Ibbo and Johnno because they were barely at a jog but Suban to me looked like he was still feeling his ankle. Salim said he looked fine to him so make of that what you will.

Harry I have heard Freo might be doing a match sim training on Sat. Can you confirm this or anyone else who attend. It's the only chance I can get to see them.

That appears very likely JMT as the boys did very little today. In fact Sandi, Daniel Pearce and Lee Spurr were no shows, whilst the others had a very light run today.

One thing I will say though is that Zac Dawson was waving at the kids as he ran laps with Luke McPharlin, Son-Son, Johnno and Michael Walters today.

So we decided to give them a cheer as they ran past and Zac acknowledged us with a wink and a "thanks fellas."

It showed us that the mood was very relaxed today.

I heard on the radio yesterday that Freo Oval was underwater so they had to train at Hilton Reserve on Carrington Street instead.

That's a bit of a drive.

A caller rang into 882 on Saturday morning and said that he had just seen them training at Hilton Reserve.

The caller was on Canning Highway in Palmyra at the time and Belly and Haggers were telling him to turn around and go back so that they could get a training report.

I wonder if Thursday will be a closed session at Subi?

Sydney arrive here on Wednesday and will also want access to the ground for run.

Sydney expect access on Thursday. According to Tadgh Kennelly on the radio last night, they will fly over on Wednesday and train at Subi on Thursday. Since that is what they always do when they play here. (Which they do so often )

Since when? I used to play for the mighty Hilton Hawks. Maroon with a yellow sash. Still remember the day when South Freo superstar Scott Watters came down to the oval and was sitting on the concrete outside the changerooms, drinking a carton of milk and saying hello to all of us little kids who went up and talked to him.

I dunno. I used to play against them when it maroon and yellow as well but I have seen some of their players around shopping centres and they have been wearing purple.

Yeah I live just around the corner - they are no longer Fremantle Hawks, but Fremantle City Dockers Junior Football Club. The club (FFC) sponsors them and provides their guernseys - hence the switch to the purple with the chevrons. It's been 3-4 years now. The FCDJFC logo is FFC old logo but all in purple.
