Mega Thread TRAINING REPORTS

Presumably we train again on Thursday. Even though the weather could be foul I'll probably go down.

Any one else going to attend. Weather probably means sitting in the grandstand.

Hi JMT, I called into Culley's in Myaree on the way home from training today. For those interested, it's on the corner of McCoy St and North Lake Rd.

Anyway, Clancee played across HBF today and looked great. He was clearing the ball beautifully with those long penetrating kicks.

Jack Hannath and Zac Clarke took turns playing forward today, whilst the other did the ruck work at the stoppages.

Zac could come straight in without a WAFL game I think.

Shirley Zac is badly lacking match fitness?

Is this your cunning plan to get rid of my boy Jack?

Oh I didn't know that Cully's was there. Me and the wife went to the one in O'Conner was nice. Thanks for the reply. Good to hear that Zac looks to be moving well again. :thumbsu:

Zac Clarke moved well today and engaged in ruck drills with Jack Hannath. His left calf is still bandaged though, but that may be purely precautionary.
Cheers Harry for the write-up!

How did Hannath go against Clarke? Was it 50-50 or did Clarke take the chocolates?
Also, how did my buddy Spurr go? :D

You are correct about the match fitness Whiteoak, but stop calling me Shirley!

Anyways, Zac looked a bit better than Jacky Hannath out there today. Zac's experience and height put him ahead of Jack in most of the contests.

Jack missed a couple of goals and was forced to work with Suma on his kicking for a bit. He got better as the morning went on though.

He is still learning the game I guess.

They have 3 Culley's stores now.

I had the roast beef and salad horseshoe roll with a sausage roll for an entrée and custard tart for dessert.

I can die happy now.

Yes there was, and Silvagni and Mitchie were both in the AFL group today. As were Subes, Ibbo, Sutcliffe, Hannath and Crozier.

That's why I think Viv may get the nod.

Thanks mate. You not only answered my question, but told me exactly what I wanted to hear! :thumbsu:

i think ross said on 6pr that Zac will play in the wafl

He sure did. But he seems to be unaware that there is no WAFL this weekend. I wonder if they'll consider naming him with the intention of subbing him off late in the game?

One thing I noticed about Jack when I rewatched the game, his handballing is really quick and accurate for big fella. I saw a few handballs that he dished out off the deck, and in tight that hit their target... even with a lot of pressure around him.

A few have mentioned that his kicking is generally pretty good. From the few kicks I've seen him take at AFL I'd have to agree.

But I thought his handballing was also very good for a big fella.

It's not as if he is a rookie kid from the colts as he is 21 and played league for Central Districts last year in the SANFL.

He just seems a little nervous and lacking confidence in the AFL at the moment.

I would love to see him after 50 AFL games though.

We'd be left very tall and slow if a small went down early though. But I see your reasoning
Zac is not slow, but it does take away a possible runner like Crozier/Sutcliffe/Michie.

You're providing some good support for Hannath as an informal buddy ;)

Not without match fitness.

Zac has the experience and the 2 extra centre metres which showed up today at training.
Yeah, I was thinking without match fitness. It seems risky to play him. Hannath has been servicable and playing more time forward i'd prefer him up front *flashes back to glass v clarke*
