Mega Thread TRAINING REPORTS

Just a great opportunity for the kids to meet the boys and have their photo's taken with the players. They did a token kick to kick session to at least show that they were almost training, but it really was just a meet and greet for the kids.

Fyfey signed my arse cushion for me so it wasn't a total waste of time going down.

The kids were then allowed to come onto the ground and have a kick with each other. Ryan Crowley was still out there practicing his goal kicking skills and a lucky young man got to have a kick with creepy.

Well done to Crowls too for obliging the kid with a few kicks and handballs, I am sure it made someone's day.

Great to see Zac Clarke and Steven Silvagni walking around without any strapping.

Might want to rethink that sentence

Crowley is a top bloke when it comes to treating the kids well. He is very approachable, almost to the point of encouraging it. A genuine fella in my book. :thumbsu:

Last time I asked Ballas to sign my nut sack he just laughed and walked away. I ended up just sitting there eating my bag of peanuts on my own.

Like the time I asked Hase 'Just to sign the tip' and he got upset because he thought I was talking about some photo in the newspaper.

but is there actually a training report from today

They didn't train. They just signed autographs today. Tomorrow is the main session. I won't be able to put up a report until tomorrow night though since I am going straight from training to uni.

Ahh. Thanks Gaskin. Got fooled by the open training session. Will look out tomorrow night for your report. Many thanks.

Everybody needs their arse cushion signed.

Fyfey looked at it and then had a quick smell before he signed it though. I told him it was new and "fart free" thus far.

He then said, "So it's not a whoopee cushion then?" before giving back to me.

I then yelled out "Whoopee, it is now!"

I then ran through a pack of kids with my newly signed arse cushion eager to show Gaskin and Irish Docker.

It was a fair bump and within the play, no one was seriously hurt and only one ice cream hit the dirt.

You do know the AFL/MRP is coming down hard on anyone hitting the icecream area? The icecream is to be protected at all costs. You are lucky this was not an official game and there were no cameras or you'd be facing at least a week on the sidelines. With no arse-cushion for protection. The cold hard concrete of the Salim Malik stand, with no arse-cushion. Think long and hard about that Harry, next time you recklessly go the icecream.

To quote Scott Watters this week, "it was a stupid thing to do."

I got caught up in the emotion. There I was standing there with my official AFL licensed arse cushion and about to take my place in the Salim Malik stand, then suddenly there was no training to watch thanks to a bunch of autograph hunting kids.

I spotted a loose Nat Fyfe on the fence signing an autograph or two, saw a gap in the crowd and took my chances.

It reminded me of that Drowning Pool song "Let the bodies hit the floor."

Knocked out some six year olds on the way through?
sound like something subiaco football club colts (or under 16's) actually did 2 my kid a few years ago (and he is only 12 now). gutless club, gutless president didn't respond to my angry letter.
VENDETTTTTTTA!!!!

Training report

I arrived today at the end of the warm up. After some close in handball drils and goal kicking practice the main group moved into one third half ground then full oval match sims. this was followed by my favourite drill the corridor keep it off your opponent while pushing forward.

Overall a good session with the defense standing up well. the only downside was marking inside 50. was ordinary and mayne was the main offender.

A small group off Simpson duffy schloith and howsen did training by themselves maybe to manage workload. no standouts today but Luke mc was up back running the show.

Hi JMT, was Zac Clarke and Alex Silvagni sighted today?

G,day Harry 'Arse Cushion' Reems, Alex was training with main group and looked strong in defence. Zarke wasn't and is listed as injured.

FWIIW Zach Dawson had a constant smile on his face and even seemed to be giggling at times. D. Pearce appeared to be singing for a moment maybe the players are in good spirits. Ross did a lot of praising but also pulled up a few players on their decision making.

JMT - to what extent did Hannath roll through the forward line today?

About 50% of the time. He provided a good target up forward, unfortuently due to our small forwards dropping marks it Hannath didn't get a good opportunity to take some grabs. I noticed Griffo take a few strong marks up forward.

I hope this helps :)

It certainly does. It means big Jack to stand in the goal square and give Grif some much needed help in the ruck.
